Look what Timmy just found in his happy meal.
If I were you I'd really focus on adding weathering effects on that thing. Or at least some washes/highlights in the appropriate parts of the painted areas...

I think Quarterdime is looking a different model to me - I see lots of weathering and highlighting, though I agree the yellow could do with being Orked up a bit.
Top work though, he looks grand.

I like the rusty metals, apart from maybe a little wash with something it looks good to me!

I'm liking it
The rust effects on the legs especially. I like the way they clash with the shiny armour plates, just like a Bad Moon Dredd should look... good job!

I'm really just referring to the yellow/red. I should've made that more clear.

The yellow could do with a bit more weathering probably, but I'm a bit hesitant just because it takes forever to do yellow properly.
The rust effects were really fun to do, and are a mix of paints, washes here and there, and weathering powders.

I agree that the yellow and red need more weathering or detailing.
The metal sections of the model look fantastic! They have complex gradients of color and shade, and mottled weathering, rust, and tarnish.
However, that looks really incongruous when the 'painted' areas (the areas that aren't bare metal, if the model were 'real'), don't show much sign of wear. You have yellow grill covers with no smoke on them, and yellow rivets that show no scratching. It doesn't make sense to me, narratively, unless the grots just painted it (in which case, it's awesome, but there should be a grot with a paintbrush and paint splatters on the ground).
It's clear that you are capable of doing very detailed paint effects (the patina of rust and grime on the right top killsaw is AMAZING) but the 'grot painted' parts just don't match that level of attention.

Nice so far, some blood or such on the saw would make it look more orky.

Yeah I agree that the yellow and red need more weathering. The rest of it is weathered very well, but then the painted areas look like a different model. I'd' hit 'em (especially the cables) with another wash coat, then highlight. Have you ever tried the sponge effect?
It is perfect for a model like this, just do a dark brown first, then a silver metal for the scratches, works wonders.
Plus you get to have the fun of rusting the new spots.
Great work so far, not meaning to detract from it at all, just think the weathering should go across the whole thing.

This is a good model to paint. I like your rust effects on the metal parts, I think e yellow to blend in to the rest needs to have some chipped paint in a rust effect, it's a solid mass of yellow in the middle that I feel looks too clean.

I appreciate the helpful criticism, thanks everyone!
I'm calling it "tabletop ready" for now, but will have go at it again in the future with a sponge and some grime for the yellow and red areas.
I have no plans to do blood spatter on the weapons; I think it takes a TON of skill to do that effect without it looking too over-the-top or garish, and I'm not sure I could do it justice.

Well painted. I personally don't like the scheme but I still see that it's well painted
