Those are some pretty gentlemanly looking Guardsmen, lol.

What models are you using for them, out of curiosity?

Thanks

These ones are all Victoria Miniatures except the Squats which where made by Bob Olley in a kickstarter. The Commissars I made out of bits using leftovers from Vic minis too.

I should have mentioned we decided not to follow the rules for deep striking and his whole army deep striking. To us Demons should be able to so we let it happen.

Although it could have been cool for that Nurgle demon to walk forward with other Demons appearing around him.

So yea we tend to house rule things and I forget that the rest of the world doesnt do those so I forget to mention them!

The birthrate must be awfully high to sustain your regiments

Have you started work on the terrain for your custom scenario?

Perhaps some of those barricades could be used as a "counts as" Aegis Defense Line.

It would add some character to each battle and perhaps slow the rate your men are ruthlessly scythed down.

Yea, Its a very densely populated planet... with a funded breeding program...

Yea I have a lot of make shift barricades and walls ready for it! Just waiting on the Orks to be ready. Im unsure if i want huts or a bastion to defend but its well on its way to being ready!

Unfortunately the club has gone through drastic re-changes in scenery so the old ork city and so on are gone. As we beef out the terrain im sure my men start increasing their survival rates haha.

At least I go down fighting to the bitter end. I pride myself in that!

Just so you know chariots don't get immobilized for dangerous terrain anymore, they only lose a hull point now.

Good battle report, and that's some fantastic models on the board. Daemons are really well done however the Praetorians are just bloody awesome!

"It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting the ultimate practitioner."

Thanks man. I sometimes feel bad for my opponents because my army sucks the attention to my side of the board.

Thanks for reading!

Wow! Great looking models! I love your story telling also a great read!

One personal thing. As a daemons player greater daemons/daemon princes (they are heavy spp. with a greater daemon) are the only real/slightly expensive HQ choice. otherwise you have to take herald (up to 4 per hq slots) which are all very low cost. We dont have so many HQ options that we can take all sorts of different guys like guard/imperial armies can (allying with marines often). I dont think bringing 1 nurgle demon HQ is cheesy. I could never play my marines without a greater daemon otherwise its like whose leading the army? Imagine tyranids without monsterous creates? Imperial guard without tanks?

Ahh, what was cheesy, was giving it iron arm making him Toughness 10.

At the club we tend to try not take things we know other players cant deal with. So taking a toughness 7 monster is fine and great. But toughness 10? No, not good. Like the week before, someone took a flyer on purpose because I couldnt kill it. Which somewhat ruined the game for me (didnt say anything though). My usual opponents would never do something like that, so it s a bit of a shock.

Thanks for reading though dude! I would never call something cheesy until the opponent has 0 chance of killing it! haha

Your club sounds great I wish I could run themed armies that dont preform so well all the time! Where I play flyers are just considered a fundamental part of the game same with using psychic powers however you can. If i bring my all khorne marines list I just lose.

Since the GUO can only roll on biomancy and nurgle and he can only cast iron arm on himself you cant control what powers you get so i dont blame him for using it.

Anyway. I look forwards to reading your next report!

Haha yea its great. I fear my Praetorians will not do well anywhere outside my club! Im working on another themed list and I dont fear for being destroyed every game because of the great guys I game with.

Im going to be honest I dont know much about demons at all. I guess it was just shocking to have a near unkillable creature slowly eat through your army.

The next fight will be against orks (if all goes to plan) so be prepared for a remake of the last stand at Glaziers Creek! (google it and read the battle report, such a cool white dwarf issue!)

Thanks for reading mate

Yeah, but that made a HUGE difference. Instead of getting a chance to shoot at him first (pretty important, especially for guard), you just sort of got chumped. And he was able to throw his entire army into your deployment zone. And he was able to start summoning more demons into your deployment zone right away.

You were playing with both hands tied behind your back this game. There's a reason demons can't all-reserve anymore.

Anyways, such lovely pictures. Very nice.

Yea I just got back and was speaking to the Demon player. A lot would have changed if we followed the rules. Potentially game breaking but at the end of the day we both learnt a lot and it wont happen again haha.

Cheers mate.
