That may be a +2 instead of x2 for his axe, is it's just a special frost axe. I wouldn't imagine it being double strength.

You're probably right, admittedly I am hoping that this is a change to the rules for frost weapons as I think they were very over priced for what they were before.
Frost axes are currently +2 strength but I put x2 for this one as while its very hard to tell but it did look like x2, and the part just to the right of that showing frost swords definatetly does not look like +1 strength which is what it is currently.
Also Logan Grimnars special frost axe can be x2 strength so its not entirely unheard of.

Frost blades, that doesn't look like the normal +1, but it is hard to be sure.

So have they mentioned if these are single pose snap together models or are they "full" sprues with all the options? Because the Nobs, Gretchin, and Kanz all appear identical to their regular kit versions.

If that's true though, that's a lot of sprues that will be in that box, as I believe the Nob box alone comes with 3.

That said, it would be cheaper for GW and allow them to run it as a limited go without losing too much cash, as they're just reusing the same old sprues and not having to cut a new one just for this set.

They are the full kits, so it's a gold mine for Bits as much as anything else.

And worst of all just reinforces the fact that going limited edition is the way to go so this trend will continue, and GW will learn nothing.

Wow :/

Yeah, maybe not "insulted," but definitely annoyed that it was an unfortunately small print run considering it's more or less functioning as an expensive stop-gap starter set.

Well, that was GW's shot at getting me to get off the fence and start another army, since space wolves have tempted me for a long time.

I just hope that I can snag one of my game store's 4 copies. I'm really interested in starting the Wolves, and this might be what I need to actually get back into 40k.

Just called my FLGS and reserved a copy. The guy said he was confident he would have a copy for me but was not 100% sure. I don't think he even knew how much copy he would get.

Just sad that I won't be able to order this through Alliance Games to get my comic book shop retailer discount

Would you also characterize it as a 'slap in the face'.

This is all experimentation for GW. This kind of set is clearly popular (sold out within a day of pre-orders becoming available!), so could really help them turn around their flagging sales. Next time they'll produce twice as many, or half as many again, or something. Can't really blame them for underestimating demand -- I am sure they wish they'd made more.

You still haven't. But you have demonstrated you have no idea what the word 'insulted' means.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

I'd consider a company that insults its customers by pulling this limited edition garbage to count. But way to go insulting him.

Can't believe that the box has sold out already, I imagine a lot of goodwill that GW gained from finally offering a saving has been countered by making it so limited. It's as if they're trying to look like they're offering a deal while at the same time making sure the smallest fraction of the playerbase get the savings.

Given the only new costs are the campaign book (all 32 pages of it) and the box, it seems stupid they aren't selling this more happily. It must make them one hell of a markup.

I'll remind people that the webstore stock of Crusade Of Fire sold out pretty quick too.

That this has sold out as it has doesn't mean that they haven't allocated a huge amount to stores, and that you won't be able to pick one up in 6 months at 50% off with a layer of Finedust™.

I don't anticipate this happening, but nothing precludes that as of this moment.

Check your stores next Saturday.

The Void Shield Generator sold out online but some were still available in GWs and even some FLGSs on the actual release day.

As for WayneTheGame, the statement above has given me a warm little chuckle.
