In addition to the GT, we'll also be hosting a 40k Skirmish Tournament on Friday, October 10, and a X-WING tournament (details still in the works)on Saturday October 11.We now have opened a 2 Day Malifaux GT. All in all, we have several thousand dollars of prize support that will be given out for a variety of honors, including Renaissance Man (w/l + paint+sports), Best General (win/loss) Top Bracket, Second best Top Bracket, Best Army, Best Single Miniature, Best Conversion, Best Sportsman, and Tournament Aces, Bracket Winners, and more.

Army Construction:
- You may not select more than 2 total Detachments, and must contain a Primary detachment
- You may not select more than 1 Combined Arms Detachment
- If you do select a Combined Arms Detachment, is must be your Primary detachment
- All Formations, Codices, and Dataslates published by 9/10/2014 are considered legal
- Forgeworld rules will not be legal for 2014
- You may select 0-1 Fortifications from the following: (at this time, no further upgrades to fortifications such as though in Stronghold may be taken)

Firestorm Redoubt
Vengeance Weapons Battery
- Conjured units are not considered part of an explicit Detachment. As a result, benefits from your Warlord such as Conqueror of Cities and benefits granted by being a part of a given detachment do not apply to Conjured Units. Furthermore, as a RAW clarification, Conjured Models interact with other models as per the Allies Matrix, regardless of the Faction that summoned them.
- Super Heavy/Gargantuan/Escalation Lords of War are not allowed at this time (meaning you can still take Ghaz/Logan and an Imperial Knight, just not a Baneblade). (Subject to change if we get enough people who want these, and if we do change, will likely be using the modified list as per what BAO did)
- An Allied Detachment may be composed of models from the some Faction as your Primary Detachment.

So many GT's this weekend. FoB, Michigan GT, and now BFS

Outside of that you might want to clarify the FOC stuff a bit. Formations, Dataslates, Detachments that aren't CAD or Allied. Stuff like that.

Hulk, BFS isnt new on the block regarding Columbus day Weekend. This will be our 5th year doing it on Columbus day w/e ... I cant speak for the others.

BFS will generally follow NOVA FOC list building.

It wasn't a don't do it that weekend . I was just commenting on a lot of events happening that weekend.

And they are pretty solidly spread across the country too. Just thought it was interesting.

I'll be there for Nova. But a third trip out this year is probably a no go. Especially with a similarly sized event within driving distance with some buddies who already want to go

SOME UPDATES:

The BFS is proud to announce a few more gaming systems into the fray. First we are including a 40K Young Bloods tournament. 3 games that will take place on Saturday, October 11. Young Bloods must be 13 years old or younger. The event will be 1000 points.

Second, there will be an X-Wing tournament. Also on Saturday, October 11th. Games will follow the Fantasy Flight Games tournament rules set. 4 games with 2 championship rounds.

Finally, 5 game Malifaux GT on Saturday and Sunday.

Not to put words in Bob's mouth, but I believe its the same sort of army list design NOVA has, where a "source" is just an instance of something taken, so the above would be illegal (and would you mind defining CT?).

CT is "Chapter Tactic." I agree the intent is two detachments but I just want the clarity before investing in the additional models to replace the trusty Whirlwind Scorpio and servo skull inquisitor I used at Alamo in May (which allowed FW and was 3 sources/detachments).

If they're using what NOVA used, which they do often enough, they'll allow building upgrades and such within the restricted NOVA fort list.

But we're getting out in left field. This is the BFS Club's event, not mine or Andrew's

This is correct. Sorry it took so long to reply but i just got back from an amazing weekend at NOVA but the BFS will be using the same List building restrictions as Nova. Same fortification restrictions However LoW characters from the most recent Codexes Orks, Space wolves and GK will be allowed. These are listed on the front page of www.battleforsalvation.com

Thanks Ed, I have had a busy weekend too. Heard the NOVA was awesome. We will post up mission pack and detailed rules set this week.

Today is the 30 day cutoff for new Source material. If something comes out in the next few days we will review if it will be used in the Tournament

This is one of the tighter knit, cooler social GT's out there (And it's also brass knuckles tough if that's what you're trying to get out of it).

I'll be taking a breather from 40K and playing in the Malifaux GT this time around, along with a core group of about a dozen guys from our DC area Monday Night Malifaux group.

Can't wait!

Battle for Salvation would like to Invite you to the 2014 Battle for Salvation Grand Tournament Masters Invitational.
The reason why we are reaching out to you is due to your exceptional Skills in painting and modeling of 40K miniatures.
Our intent is to provide a Championship win track at the GT level that celebrates artistic talent and the beauty of ones army over the way it performs on the table top.

The length of time it takes to create a masterful looking models tends to leave creators of these armies lagging in there ability to keep pace
with the ever changing climate of the game.

The reason why you are being invited is due to the recognition you have received either through the winning of past Tournament Painting awards or recommendations by your peers or our staff.

Does pursuing the Masters win track exclude you from other awards at the Tournament ? No.. Winning the Tournament all together or your bracket is still open to you as a player also since you will be placed in the general Grand Tournament.

So how do we score the Masters Invitational ? The BFS is a win/loss Tournament that also tracks Battle points. The first day you will play 3 games and depending on your record will be placed in an appropriate bracket of equal W/L army performance for day 2. Each game battle points are also tallied. Day 2 you will play in your bracket 3 more games and accrue additional Battle points. If you are undefeated in your bracket you also win that bracket. The Masters Track is scored at 75% Paint and 25% Battle Points. This Tournament track is heavily weighted to having a great paint score with table performance being secondary.
