Hello all! I wanted to start a little blog so that I can keep track of all my models I build and paint, as much for my own benefit as everybody else haha.

I have been collecting the Ultramarines 3rd company for awhile now. I chose them because I really enjoy the Ultramarines chapter tactics and fluff, but I didn't want the typical blue and gold Ultramarines seen all over. I plan on posting up all my painted models as well as any future models I happen to get.

I also occasionally impulse buy, particularly other Imperial units to use as allies (Imperial Knight).

So without further ado, the Freeblade Imperial Knight, The Executioner!

I wanted my knight to look more interesting that just standing in place. So I was going to have him standing on a chopped up Carnifex. To do this, I had to cut up his knee at the joint so they could bend.

After cutting up that leg I assembled the rest of the hip and put the chopped up Carnifex on his base. I'll get some more shots in the next post!

So after getting all the legs put together, I assembled the upper body and painted it.

(Word to the wise, don't put the shoulder pads on before painting. It makes it hard to reach anything...)

After getting the upper body and all painted up I put him all together!

For some final touches, I put on some decals (which I really like from the knight kit), and added some juicy Tyranid gore. I made the Tyranid blood look similar to the GW blood technical paint by mixing the old snot green with gloss varnish. It worked out pretty well!

And finally, some pictures of my Ultramarines. This is the first squad I painted of them. It is Third Company, Second Tactical Squad, led by Sergeant Attilus Moro.

I really enjoy painting these guys, more than any other army I've painted. Blues and Reds just seem to be the easiest for me to paint highlights of.

Always nice to see a fellow Ultramarine, particularly one with the good taste to collect the 3rd.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your work, nice stuff so far.

Haha I'm not sure why those ones decided to post upside down! I posted them in all the same format. Oh well, maybe I can fix it when I get home.

Anyways, here is a picture of Epistolary Librarian Scipio Mettelus. I hope you like him! (I love the forgeworld loth model)

Edit: Now sideways pictures... Why?!

NIce looking figs. The funny thing is that my Nids are painted in the same colour scheme as the dead one. So I can't help but think its my Carnifex dead on the ground.

Heh, so this is what my models would look like if I had any painting talent. Though, I can't be thrilled about "Captain Fabian" and my own are led by Captain Ardias, but still, 3rd Company is nice to see. Amazing work.

In my personal army/fluff, Captain Fabian was mortally injured and was installed into a dreadnought. My old, metal one bears his name on part of the scrollwork, and has the RT captain insignia over the sarcophagus. The living, commanding, captain on the field is Ardias. It’s my way of reconciling the two captains listed in various sources.

More 3rd Company?! They're outnumbering the tyranids at this rate!

These look really nice, again from another Ultramarine (4th this time). Look forward to seeing some more from you.

I have always disliked edge highlighting, but yours look pretty good. A bit thick at some spots but overall, looking really good. Was wondering if you would be willing to take a pic of one of these finished ones with another before you apply the edge highlighting so I can see the difference.

Keep it up!
