And my question kinda remains the same. If you have access to cheaper, more numerous psykers with pretty much no drawbacks (apart from gear choices, which sorcerers never use anyway) why would you EVER take a Sorcerer?

Because you want Telepathy, Biomancy, or Pyromancy, rather than being limited to the not especially great Mark lores?

That depends does the chaos mark give you a free Psyker Level or do you have to buy them like inquisitors for 25 points.

If you hand it out to sergeants Tzeentch armies lose one of their major benefits.

Sergeants should only get Psyker Levels at a mark up like 40 points for 1 and only 1 Mastery level.

I just wish a lord could be upgraded to be a sorcerer lord for x amount of points, like the old days. I hate having to choose between a lord for cult troops or a sorceror for spells, or both for ridiculously high points. I would rather combine the two and get my cult troops, or allow the sorcerer to be the leader of a cult warband.

More psykers in Chaos is always a good thing. +30 pts for ML1 and a force weapon sounds about right, if you're limited to just the one god discipline power.

I was thinking +20 points with no Force Weapon.

It edges out Thousand Sons of course, since they pay 26 points for ML1 and a Force Weapon, but the Thousand Sons have other advantages.

Only if you have a Mark on him.

There already is an upgrade to make random HQ like the Lord and Apostel a level 1 Psyker with random powers... and it's expensive.

Ok good, that's what I thought because I run around with a level 3 nurgle sorceror.1 from the Nurgle descipline and 2 from biomancy.

Make a character that's forced to send out challenges into a psyker? No thanks.
