So I want to make my command Chimera stand out, first I was thinking forgeworld track protection and and rear door. Not a massive fan of the side armour as it looks like it would stick out to far.

Any other options to make it look 'more' than the others or anyway to bling my AM armour up in general?

Any pictures would be great!

Really like the idea of antennas, how was that done? Also the kit rolls.

I have no idea, I found theese pictures on Google.

However I made antennas out of hard steel wire. d=0,5mm or 1mm

Rolls are more difficult. You can buy them, or create your own. One technique is Green Stuff, other known to me is old, wet sandpaper rolled together, then fixed and left to dry.

Look at Google, you will find tons of tutorials.

I personally am making my chimeras front ramp access with the turret on the back half instead of the front. Still working on the best way of doing it, but its not too hard so far.

Front ramp access sounds pretty awesome

Banelord, how did you achieve the set back turret?

A old blog which I really liked.

A front ramp would look cool, but also cause big rules arguments if you actually try to move troops through it.

Love the 'antennas' conversion above, and I'm sure I've seen those antenna mount bits somewhere, but can't remember where.

Thinking of it the 2 things I would want are the antennas or moving the turret back, found loads of examples but no tuturials for it.

I've never been a fan of the guns poking out.

Antennas are always a good call for command vehicles. Personally, I like all the upgrades FW has for the Chimera. I think the autocannon turret they make is a great piece and definitely makes the Chimera look beefier overall. I also like the track guards but be prepared to have to straighten them out with some boiling water and a bit of sanding to get them to fit properly.

Simple googling, tutorial fot Set-Back Chimera.

Antennas (wires) can be also made by heating sprue frame (round is ideal). Lit a candle and place the sprue over (not directly into the flame, about an inch or two above), and wait (usualy few secs). When it softens (not burn!), take it away from the heat, then slowly pull both hands away from each other. There should be thin wire between both sprue bits.
Theese wires are better thicker, because it is REALLY easy to snap it.

Try various speeds, if it won't come for the first try, don't give up and try again.

(I hope my english is good enough for fully understanding )

I picked up a turret from the Artemia pattern hellhound and swapped the flame cannon with a multilaser. Makes it look more techy and a bit more remote controlled leaving more room for comms gear.

Another idea:

Antenna grid over the hull or around the turret as some versions of WW2 german SdKfz (or how it's called) had.

It would't be hard to create and there is no risk of accidental snaping. I would create it from steel wire, solded/welded together.

Guitar string also makes for excellent antennae, or so I'm told. Use the smallest sized string, which I believe is for High E or A notes.
