Do you think there will ever be a clone wars or old republic version of this game? I would be very interested in it.

Jar Jar could be a crew upgrade: if the ship he's on gets blown up, everyone gets points.

Nah, it would be something like

Action: gain three evade tokens but lose all shields for a turn and gain a stress.

Darn I think that clone wars era would be perfect for this game and I've always thought it was a cooler time period

If the game keeps making money for FFG, they will probably release a Clone Wars variant. There was some discussion on what could be done in this thread:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/604002.page

There's enough material there to keep them busy for a while, but Episode VII comes out next year, and there's a new look to the X-Wing:

Edit: No, that's not a Z-95. Note the split intakes on the wings.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

I think it's too early to say either way. The normal "B" version of the X-Wing doesn't have split intakes either. I would say the closest ship in terms of appearance is the Z-95t but even then, the engines in the video seem less prominent than they do in the artwork and it lacks the Z-95 cowling behind the cockpit (which is absent on the X-Wing, just like the ship in the video).

When it comes down to it, I guess that new ship is whatever they say it is since we already know how they feel about anything established in the EU

I do think that - if they are completely nonchalant about that ship and it's "Just an X-Wing. Our X-Wing. This is what X-Wings are now." - then we probably won't see one from FFG. That said, I'm sure there will be a few other fighter-sized ships in the new trilogy that are distinct enough to get their own name and I'm sure they will crop up in Wave 20 or so

Except the Z-95 doesn't have two laser cannons on each wing....

Or four engines (look closely at the back).

I could totally see FFG release the new-style X-Wing as a miniature with some new cards. Easy add-in to the existing line.

I'd buy 4.

At least.

The Z-95T has both.

But the point is moot. They could have shown us a T-47 or a Sorosuub Cutlass-9 and said "This is an Episode VII X-Wing" and canonically, that would be that. It just so happens that what they have shown us draws inspiration from some classic McQuarrie art and the fighter in that picture contained elements which went on to appear in both the X-Wing and Headhunter

Whilst I'm strongly against the new movies from what I hear, if they help sweep the prequel crap under the carpet so we never get tie-in stuff to the era ever again they'll have performed at least one service to humanity.

Looks more like a the Z-95T you posted Siygess. Or a modified and up-gunned original. Also note the BLUE paint job? Note that all the pilot cards for the Z-95 have RED stripes? (or none on the base one) But the model also has a BLUE paint job? I sense a ripple from the future through the force. Could honestly be a preemptive move to keep consistent with the new trilogy styling for when that wave of ships comes out.

Also, please keep to game relevant discussion. BTdubs: The whole series, 1 through 6, are equally bad and equally good. Plus the original script for the whole thing is better than any of the actual films so screw it.

Fair point. I keep seeing that this was officially confirmed as an X-Wing, but I can't FIND the official confirmation.

Thanks, internet.

Hehe yeah I've seen that official confirmation too. So like I said, my point is largely moot. They've already said that what they have shown is an X-Wing. I'm just talking about this because..well.. Star Wars. I love it all. Yeah, even EP I - III
