The title says it all. Is there any place to get zombie minis specifically designed for sci-fi/futuristic settings in terms of their clothing, equipment etc? The hard plastic ones being made for Deadzone look like what I'm after but I don't know when they're going to be available for retail. Can anyone help? By the way, I'd prefer non-heroic proportions.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

I think the Deadzone will be released in December.

Mantic also have a Zombie Apocalpyse army set that gives you a bunch of marines and a bunch of zombie sprues; you need to put the work in, but can get some awesome results.

Two things came to mind: first is Mantic's offering:

It's just a mixture of their fantasy line and Warpath line, but hey the results are pretty decent if you want loads of sci-fi soldier zombies. Mixes well with Deadzone's aesthetic as well.

Not sci-fi, but Wargames Factory zombies could fit for zombie civilians:

Actually, what you can just do is mix Mantic's zombie sprue with any plastic kit that has a compatible proportion and you'll have zombies. Have fun!

Ah yes, now I actually forgot to mention in the OP that I just finished constructing one of their Zombie Marine sets. And with the remaining figures that don't use Marine parts I plan to paint up the rags the zombies wear to look like shredded lab coats, etc so they fit right in. These are actually meant for DZ, as it happens.

So I can vouch for that suggestion myself, and you're correct, it's a very good kit. In the meantime I'm just looking to expand the horde with some stuff from other manufacturers.

Really my only rule is not to use WHFB zombies as their heads and hands are massive.

If you are after a scattering of stuff to mix through bulk plastics then Hasslefree have a nice range of stuff
