Any way your screwed bar 1 in billions, maybe trillions who becomes a deamon prince or gets other rare gifts.

Not counting Nurgle who guarantees a place of daemonhood after death to all mortal followers (usually as a plague bearer). And as with all warp creatures, you can become more powerful and rise up the ranks of daemondom to reach higher levels of daemonhood.
Nurgle is the only god who allows this, as all other gods have a daemonic superiority policy, except for the best of their mortal followers (whose souls are no longer human anyways by the time they receive godly recognition).

Source? Show me where it says he GUARANTEES daemonhood.

Check out Nurgle's rot, http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Nurgle%27s_Rot#.U9L0NfldWSo , this is a spiritual and a physical plague that that corrupts the souls into Plaguebearers. So you become a Daemon from Nurgle's gift to the universe. So if you worship Nurgle you become a Plaguebearer.

Only if you catch THAT disease. There's billions of other diseases he could bestow upon you instead.

Why worship another god than Nurgle?
Well, because you dont fancy getting all sick and bloated and repulsive?
Maybe you actually attach a lot of value to beauty and perfection?
Maybe because you are sick (pun not intended) of everything being the way it is and want to change things for the better?
Or maybe you are just really mad and dont want part of all those hugs and cuddles?

Its usually not a choice. You are stricken with rot and have to submit to Nurgle or die a suffering death. I guess it ain't so bad afterwards. You are stricken with every ailment known but cannot feel it and are immune to pain. Usually worshippers take on a personality akin to their gods so I guess most worshippers are loving of one another in their "family" and just want to spread happiness (rot) to the masses.

Tzeentch's pawns get all the girls. Girls dig wizards.

Many of Tzeentch's followers are scientists politicians artists and other important people.

I ain't sayin' she's a gold digger...

Also, sex magic. Think about it.

And this is why if I wasn't so much of an anti-Chaos Grey Knight player, I would have a Chaos army devoted to Tzeentch. To me Tzeentch may have a ton of plans and plots with using tons of pawns to do his bidding, I think he treats his followers the best. No forced pain pleasure, no rotting disease bloated flesh or forced to fight endlessly. No, you just support the gain of knowledge and spread sedition throughout the universe. Plots for plots sake, reap the change!

Change also entails random body mutation, higher chance of becoming a spawn with tzeentch I would think.

It is still not guts spilling out disgusting though. Lots of eyes I can deal with.

Slaanesh is not just about sex, and you almost certainly won't be getting any from attractive women, they're usually reserved for trying to corrupt non believers. Once you're in you get the goat things

We're watching you... scum.

Slaanesh is also about savoring the best gourmet food, the finest wine, the purest drugs, the softest silk, and so on.

Also about the most disgusting food, the worst, foulest vinegar-wine, horrible bad-trip inducing terrordrugs, wearing hooks as clothes, and so on.

As long as it is more extreme than the last similar experience, it is acceptable.

Not to mention perfecting skills, learning to master cooking, learning to perfect one self in combat, leadership, growing potential of all kinds.

You'll also gain bliss, terror, every sensation is a delight, happiness on a level most mortals would dream of, terror that would make any mortal drop dead would just be another extreme sensation to add to your collection.

And Slaanesh is a fickle god, she will favor you, grant you gifts far more then any other god, but look out for when you stop being interesting to him and he decides to use you for his pleasure, granting gift after gift till you end up some abomination with no sense of self because it'd make him cheerful.

And heck, you may eventually just stop caring about what sensations some of the most horrific looking beastmen/women grant you, in the end it's all sensation.

Because knowledge is power and power is meaningless without wisdom.

Wisdom is a result of experience and denying change denies infinite chances to gain new experiences.

... until you become so jaded that you tear your own body apart just to try to feel SOMETHING.

Sex bores you, so you go in to extreme rough bondage monkey sex. That bores you, so you go in to orgies of said monkey sex. That bores you, so you wire your pleasure centers directly to a switch. THat bores you, so now you rely on magic to force yourself feel pleasure.

Same with all other sensations, even terror and happiness.

You will become so jaded and bored that suicide will increasingly look like a plausible way out. Even bowel-clenching despair at your numbness will become, itself, boring.

Except Death Itself is just a final sensation for them.

Unless of course you become a Daemon Prince... Or a chaos Spawn.

In Daemonworld there is quite a good description of when a Chaos Slaaneshi follower dies expecting it to be something glorious but finds it to be rather hollow, empty and frightening. The ultimate let down.

I would say with Slaanesh you get to burn brightest for awhile, until like Mel says, nothing brings you joy and leaves you a soulless husk, wanting to feel.

Daemonworld? I don't think I've seen that novel, or short story.

But yeah, I figure as it is, all the gods have their benefits and their curses.

I will admit, if I had the choice I'd worship Nurgle. For a few reasons really.

1. FNP
2. If you become a DP, you're one of the toughest melon-fethers in existence.
3. They're the most jovial bunch of Daemons
4. Who doesn't like chemical and biological weapons?

Do remember Plague-bearers are actually quite dreary, not exactly a cheery or even excitable bunch.

Mordheim's Carnival and Chaos Cults of Nurgle in WHFB in general seem to be pretty happy and cheerful.

That'd be relevant if we were talking about WHFB

Considering how Chaos in both sides is pretty much the exact same. I'd say it's relevant.

Besides, have you seen how happy those Nurglings are? They could write a hit song about it!

No it's not. The Warp in 40k is massively different from the Winds of Magic in WHFB.

The Warp is pretty equal to the Realm of Chaos, but eh.
