Would be nice to have a sub forum for painted forces/tables etc. Also maybe a Batrep one?

Really great that it is expanding though. I know quite a few gamers are a little disillusioned with their current game and looking to try something a little different to cleanse their gaming palate. A lot of infinity enthusiasm from that.

I think the current forums would need to show an increase in traffic before we expand again into more specifics. For example, Warmachine and Hordes has 1 more subforum than this, but, as a whole, has 61031 posts. The Infinity subforums have, in total, 21234. Almost 40,000 less posts. Once we start hitting the next level in the infinity forums, we'll consider expanding again Good idea though.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

We discussed the painting sub forum and we all thought it was better to leave those to the P&M forums that every game on Dakka share so that we can publicize our game to players who would never bother to come down here to look. Also the BATREP idea is a good idea, but frankly no one really posts those here yet as most of the Dakka players are new and the vets frequent more then one Infinity forums.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And to follow up with what Motyak said about activity. To give a perspective the Oldest Infinity post I could find dates back to December 2007 so over the course of 80 months (brings us to now) Infinity averages 265 posts per month.

Warmahordes on the other hand since 2006 over the course of 105 months averages 581 posts per month.

So we have a long ways to go before we can be clamoring for more forums

The key here is to avoid 'dead areas'.

"Perception is Reality" oftentimes, and I don't think a dedicated "Battle Reports" section would be very active, at all!

But really, if you look at how quickly we've expanded the Infinity presence here - we're moving pretty quickly!

Just like Infinity itself is growing explosively!

I think what is needed, is for all of the infinity lovers to post more stuff! Post pics of your current squads, your tables and terrain. Start arguments over which supporting profiles are best, or which cheesecake model you love/hate the most. What you love about the rules, what you'd like to see in the future, blah blah blah.

If we all get a little more active, then the forum will maybe attract more people, and it'll steamroll.

There's a real buzz around this game at the moment.

@Shae-Konnit - I hope so too. Definitely think it does help when you get a certain number of players into a game. You will always get some 'cycle' of players getting bored with a game, and new ones coming in, and having that base level helps keep the game in people's consciousness.

Exciting times once again!

Apologies for my prolonged absence and inactivity. My smartphone just isn't the correct tool to allow me to contribute, organise and communicate on Dakka as I'd like to. I will be ordering a laptop on the 15th Aug which will allow me to return and get back to my regular involvement. So before August is out I will be back to Dakka, the hobby and, importantly, to Infinity. I'm itching to see what's been happening, do some catch up and set up my workbench anew. Until then I'll check my private messages regularly and I encourage anyone to get in touch to bring my attention to any projects I can help on; with suggestions for current projects which I'll be returning to; or just to say hi if you like.

Be happy Dakka, never far from my thoughts!

Great to have you back around mate!

This is it exactly!

The key to having an active forum is to...

...have an active forum!

Yeh, Eggs has got it right. More posting, more threads was one of the main reasons we ended up with a sub forum in the first place.

And thanks, Pacific! It's good to be back and nice to see lots of old faces, and loads of new ones too, Dakka always feels like home!

Should I bring round another phase of Community Growth when I get back to it?
