Thanks man! The new tactical sqaud is awesome! Lots of Blood Angels bits, so that's good I'll definitely pick it up. Although I've shed a single tear knowing I've just finished my tactical squad without any of the new blood angels bits...

Haha same here, and my wallet is already in a lot of hurt with the Shield of Baal box

I was tempted to get it, but I only really wanted the Dread and nothing else so I left it. Means more money on newer units, like possibly 5 more sanguinary guard for a 10-man squad.

I'm sharing the box with a friend who's buying the other half (he just started Tyranids) so it's a pretty good deal. And I'm changing that dread into a furioso (still go bits laying around). Not really a fan of that captain but with some bit swaps he'll be a lot better

Well I think the hating has begun as I've already ordered the book and a tac squad.

Choosing a name for a custom Chapter is always a diffcult task

Here's some of my suggestions:

The Lions Harrowing (or Harrowing Lions)

The Lions of Castamere

The Lion's Tears

The Bloodied Claws

I think 'the Lions of [insert planet here]' could work, but then you'd need to name a planet too

Yep, still thinking about that one. But, since their home planet is destroyed by Necrons in the current version of their fluff, I'm a bit at a loss if I should name em at all after their planet. On the other hand, the Lions couldn't know their home was doomed in the first place I was also thinking about "Lions Resplendant". It sounds a bit cheesy perhaps but it kinda fits how they were in their early years (decades?) (just as proud and imperious as the Astral Claws). Anyway, lots of stuff to think about. Thanks for the heads up my friend. If you have more ideas, feel free to pass em through

A little update on the Lions; yesterday I began to work on the chapter symbol (okay, okay you can't really have a symbol without a proper name... but hey, there is a lion in there ) Behold!



The lion is based on the chapter symbol of the White Panthers and the halo is based on the halo of the Sons of Medusa. I've just used excisting element to create a new symbol but it fits the overall theme methinks. *couch*and I'm a bit lazy*cough*

Later this week some more sentikan goodness

Hiya guys! Worked some more on the killa kan!

This time the roof hatch and the gretchin were done:

The gretchin still needs a handle in his hand but it looks pretty ok.

I still had some gretchin heads laying around and picked one I liked the most. I then drilled a thin pin in it and bend it so that I could sculpt his body on it with green stuff.

His muscles are not defined but you won't see much of the body anyway.

The complete picture:




The only things left to do: glueing on the remaining things like the Saw and some gubbins and the plasticard plates need some bolts to make them less plain but will do that an other time. The killa kan is nearing completion! C&C welcome!

Finally, he's done. Well for now. Still need some minor work but I'll do that next year!




For the holidays I'll be at my parents house for two weeks so I figured I could paint me some minis! I've made a small list of things I really wanna paint:

- Kromlech's Ork Wartrakk (my dads been asking me about this one for quite some time - so this one's for you dad!)
- Astral Claw assault marine test (he's almost done!)
- Lugft Huron
- Some Tyrant's Legion auxilia
- Blood Angels Death Company

Looks like a nice painting list I probably won't finish them all in two weeks but it will keep me busy! Do you guys have some mini's you wanna paint before year's end?

Here's what I'm currently working on: the Ork halftrack of Kromlech! My count-as wartrakk










I'm really having a blast with this one! Lots of gubbinz and cables. Currently the bulk of the metal is shaded and the blue parts are now blocked out (some are already shaded and highlighted). Still gotta do the white parts and checkers an all the other tiny stuff, but that will be done lastly.
There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm getting there

And I got some hobby stuff for Christmas:

Hurray! More cannonfodder for the Tyrant! I er- mean more loyal servants!

I like to call them 'Da Ruff Ridaz', as they use the local fauna as a means of transportation (that is, when it doesn't eat them)





Also, for some reason, I sort of want to see a 'looted' Lufgt Huron, where the Orks bring him back to life rather than the forces of Chaos

That would be awesome! I've got a couple of Gretchin on Wargs waiting to get painted, with a regular Ork keeping them in line with a whip

And yet he was waking, rising once more from the eternal sleep. But however numb the anaesthetics had made him, something felt... wrong.

With a painful shock, the right side of his body began creaking and moaning, strange machinery setting even stranger mechanical parts in motion. The right side of his head began feeding him seemingly random pieces of information, unfamiliar codes and signs flashing in his vision. Confused, he searched for something, anything he recognized in the alien language racing through his mind.

He opened his eyes, terrified by the knowledge of what had come to pass. His eyes kept widening as he looked at the hulking monstrosity his body had become. The numbness in his chest, finally fading completely, let out a terrible scream of despair;

"WHAT DA ZOG HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!"

"Uhm, Boyz, I think da Boss is up..."



Meanwhile, somewhere in the depths of the Warp, the laughter of a cunning god echoed in the halls of its domain...

Anyway, on to the update!

Took a little break from painting this morning and sat down to assemble the command squad for the Tyrant's Legion. Visually the command squad doesn't match with the command detatchment described in the first Badab War book. I need bodyguards and a prefect, but it's okay for now, I'll expand the command squad later. I used this kit for the variation it gives. It has a medic and lots of fun bits to make the guardsmen more unique.

This one was quite a task. I had to file all the markings off of the flag so I can freehand the Tyrant's Legion symbol on there. It's still a wee bit visible but that won't be a problem when there's some paint on (I hope).

(Also, when I read 'To the drawingboard!', I heard a Space Marine shout 'To the rally point!' inside my head instead. I may or may not be going insane. Or I'm playing too much Dawn of War.)

It will be done sir! and I already ordered some stuff for the warboss! (Oh dear, this is gonna mess up my painting schedule ) I also have an idea what his alternate Hamadrya will be. A squig with the ability to manifest psychic powers (due to a brain transplant with a wierdboy thanks to the genius of da Dok) it can channel the powers to Huron through an entenna on its head.

Yep... this conversion project's gonna be awesome! Waagh! Black'eart is on its way! Da green are greenest alone! ...or something like that.
