All you guys make me feel super-young. I only got into 40k around . . . 4 years after bionicle ended.

I didn't choose the Astartes life, the Astartes life chose me.

Takanuva and Makuta for me, loved that set when I was a boy..

Oh god that set was incredible. The bike was a pain in the arse though.

Though I always liked the Big rolly ones. I forgot their names. I rememember what they looked like, I remember the Tao and I always wanted to collect the little guys.

But I got out of it after Metra Nui. And went straight into warhammer 40k.
the Bohrok? I loved bionicle, I just couldn't afford any of the fancy ones when they came out, so I got the basic ones up to the Rahkshi, I think, and moved on to stuff I could afford, like video games or warhammer. I still kept up with the storyline, though.

Man they really went all out with Bionicle.

And continued the storyline with each new wave of models.

I think I miss that in alot of things. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. But for bionicle it was one of the few that got it right. They added to it. They made it more heroic and more desperate, even with the power creeping.

But yeah they were expensive.
I could afford them when they were about £6 each (so the first few waves) but they started getting more and more expensive as they went on, to the point that I was priced out. :( There were a couple of waves where I doubt anyone could afford them, there were so many models.

So you bought every single bionicle from the earlier series? I just bought the blue/water one. Now I have a load of blue pieces.

I tried getting them all but the red and green ones were always gone. I foruantely snagged a red one a while ago.
