hello all, I'm writing this to share my experiences with demon fmc lists. in every edition i have tried to find a way to make my Bloodthirster playable. its been rather difficult this edition, but i may have found a way!!

using be'lakor the Bloodthirster and a khorne prince to form a kind of deathstar, i cast shrouding with be'lakor and give the other two FMCs 2+ jink saves. i never swoop with them, only jumping until i charge. I've been able to get some turn 2 assaults off.

i have to have other distractions to keep my enemy on the ropes, using fleshhounds (with grimorie from the prince) and soulgrinders. this has often left them with too much to shoot at. i also ally in a chaos sorcerer to get me some extra WC and do some of his own casting depending on the situation.
well, that's basically it! any thoughts? or experiences with something similar?

I like where this is going! I too want to see a strong return of the blood thirster and can't wait to see what people have to say on this.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

i keep my troops cheap and semi durable, using two squads of plague bearers with champs ( to give me extra characters for the warp storm table) nurglings and cultists with the sorcerer. i spend alot of points on offense, so not much room for defense. my grinders are also cheap with DoK and phlegm. i like phlegm with them because it lets me start affecting the game turn one. you start dropping pie plates turn one, you're opponent will shoot back at that! hopefully drawing some attention away from the hounds and FMCs

Another thing that you could do is to run Nurgle DP's with baleswords. Always jink with them so you will always be getting 2+ cover, at least against armies who don't ignore cover, and you can insta-kill wraithknights, riptides and whatnot.

However, if you come up against Imperial Knights, then you are going to have to rely on Be'lakor to try to take it out.

one guy in our group runs 2 knights, be'lakor is my only answer, bloodthirster rolling the gift for armorbane is good here too, the combination of invisibility and grimorie goes a long way in any fight!!

I like this! The durability means one can go with the Eternal Blade + Blade of Blood for 8+2D3 S8 I10 AP2 attacks on the charge!

jesus!! you're right!! I've been doubling down on defensive powers with greater rewards, I'll have to try this... that's brutal.

I don't have the 7th rulebook yet, aren't there restrictions on flight modes and charging after changing them? Or can you Jink while moving 12" (Swoop right?) and still get the bonus?

models with the jink rule can jink whenever, they don't even have to move.

Lol, I know right? Also factor in that only a handful of units won't be hitting on 5s if they survive, and an even smaller handful won't be hit on threes. Make him your warlord and get the Hatred trait and he just becomes an erase button for all of the things. Just avoid anything with a high ++ and/or high model count units with T5+ and multiple wounds (rare animals in themselves)

So a Bloodthirster can just waltz up the board moving 12" a turn jinking for a 4+ and still assault?

Yes

Works great on Nurgle Princes since they get shrouded automatically

That's still amazing, even without the shrouding.

out side of fateweaver and a lashprince, i can't think of a reason to swoop with DoC FMCs it makes you lump on log with a huge target on your head for a turn.
