In the Grim Darkness of the Far Future, there is only a fully-established real-money store before the game is even finished. Sorry, but any company that puts up a real-money store before they've even finished the game doesn't get my trust. They have to prove that they're not another pay-to-win game or (worse) pay-to-play.
On the (much) brighter side, this is the first trailer I've seen in a long time for an MMO that showed actual bloody gameplay. Most of the time they try to pull the wool over our eyes with really fancy 3D animated cutscenes, and here we got a lot of still artwork, but to their credit they showed off quite a bit.

Even if all they were doing is listening to a fanbase that was asking for it?
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I honestly don't understand why people fault them for putting up the real money store, the community was asking for it for months, they didn't even have plans to do it.
I've not really run into anyone who uses real-money stores. If there's a way to get it in-game, that's what we do.
But then, I mostly play games with subscription options.
At least, from what I've read, the RM store only really sells side-grades. If a toon with $100 of gear is still roughly on-par with an noob a day out of creation, I'm all up for that.
What's your opinions on this and what we saw from Dark Millennium?
I'm extremely excited about this game, i'm just not sure if I would have rather have this, or have had DMO. I think Vigil had the look right, if a bit to crisp and bright.
I should just be happy that I am getting a 40kmmo. If these guys don't collapse that is.

I wasn't too thrilled with it being more mmorpg and being very specifically class based though.

Lol, the community asked for this. Let's save the hate for a legitimate reason eh?
Shadowkeepers (4000 points)
3rd Company (3000 points)
You're demanding a lot from a guy who keeps bashing the concepts of pre-order and early access video games, even though he works for a company that has adopted them for pen&paper books.
I feel the character models look a bit ... hmm, plastic, maybe? Low in detail, compared to big-budget games of the same genre? It's too early to tell, and may depend a lot on zoom/perspective whilst playing. It could certainly allow for a greater number of models to display, which might become especially important once we factor in Tyranids or a huge Ork Waaagh.
The intentionally bad quality of the "transmission" might serve a double-purpose of not only being suitable to the atmosphere, but also to "disguise" flaws of something that is still very much a work-in-progress. To be honest, the only thing I really don't like seem to be the animations as they look somewhat choppy, but I heard they are still in the process of doing motion captures for the units, so what we have here might just be a placeholder.

The PCs look like the models, rather than the art. This is not a good thing.

Hopefully we can put it down to this, that it's very early.
But I agree, the design looks off and the proportions on the Space Marine and CSM especially look wrong. The movement seems all loose and bendy. DMO might have been nice and shiny in a bad way but the look and design of the characters looked spot on to me.
Got a long way to go yet for this though so I am sure it'll be top banana when it comes out and a definite purchase.

I use the gak out of real-money stores.
I dunno 'bout this. It doesn't look terrible, I guess? Which is more than I'm expecting.
