Also the model is gorgeous

Looks to be the size of a treeman or even an eldar wraithknight. Hard to tell from the blurry pic & angle.

Love the model. But it would appear that it's possible that neither of the Undead factions as we know them can field him.

Nagash can be included in an Undead Legions Army

Does that exist now as a variant list in one of the books?

Atleast he can't be in a game outside of 4000pts. *phew*

He looks superb. As a former VC player, I'm happy about this release.

His rules are linked above. He's not exempted from the force building requirements.

He's nasty, sure, but for 1,000 points? I expect a 4,000 point game will allow your opponent to bring plenty of things to try (note: try) to deal with a T7 W7 4+/4++ monster.

He's pretty beastly but he does seem balanced at a 4000 points where the opposition will be bringing plenty of stuff anyway.

He seems like he would be a Storm of Magic only kind of thing or something that makes the Lizardmen's Lord Mazdamundi's 780 points seem cheap. I would hate to face that on the battlefield unless i'm fielding 12 cannons with engineers. Or an empire character with the speculum so I can swap stats with him in combat.

Better than the rumored floating Chariot pulled by baby pandas.

So if this was taken from an upcoming WD, when can we realistically expect to see the actual issue out so we can get the full scoop/better pics?

It'll come out saturday, I expect more pics tuesday/wednesday though, as that seems to be when retailers start to get their copies and people start posting the contents of the white dwarf.

What strikes me about the rules is that they've barely changed since his 4th Edition incarnation. They've altered some rules for 8th, obviously, and his ability to raise units (and sell more models) has increased, but his items are the same, as is his stat line. I personally love the mini as well.

I am eager to see the miniature with another paintjob, the GW one is horrid. Looks very bland and adds to the low dynamics.

Having spoken to my GW manager, the new release might not JUST be Nagash, which makes me suspect another supplement. I hope to god it's nothing to do with lore battles. As we remember what happened last time GW left the public to dictate lore. As he's waiting on the release to come out to integrate it into an entire Campaign. Which would also explain the Undead Legions thing.

Yeah its apparently some sort of campaign book as hinted at in the Nagash returns background they've been inserting into various army books this edition.

I'm expecting a Storm of Magic level release or more. This is probably why they didn't release 9th edition this year. They had something of similar magnitude. Tons of factions getting units released, new or just in plastic, a new hardcover book, Nagash, and his 3rd Undead faction.

Good thing High Elves have the game's best cheat against godlike, near-invincible characters... A free pint to the first person who mugs Nagash with a BotWD Lion unit AND gets Alarielle to Heroic Killing eye-poke him!

A complimentary keg to the first Skaven player to nail his bony arse with a Brass Orb!

Surely Empire will fin him much easier to take out?

I don't think legions is going to be a full fledged faction. I think it may just be a way to field VC & TK together for the campaign. Maybe some different characters & lords / heroes to go with it. I'd love to field nagash, Arkhan, W'soran & the like together.

Who knows, if it's balanced enough it may go the way of chaos dwarfs & see widespread adoption. Though this would frighten me a bit as it reeks of allies (which i definitely do NOT want to see in WHFB) & if the VC book gets an update that makes a broken combo with a TK item / unit it may be a bit until we see it fixed.

If its a full faction, I would love to buy the Legions books & associated models. If its a campaign only army list, then I'm steering well clear and keeping my money on Napoleonics. Memories of Storm of Chaos armies getting made invalid.

Nah, He's a VC guy, I mean he did CREATE the vampires. but he does cost 1000 pts. so i guess only grand armys even have an inkling of a change, or he will be like the Imperial knights from 40k.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
