Even though I was up all night working night shift, I decided that I would still be productive. I went over to Home Depot and picked up some 1/4" peg board and some 1"x2" and built some paint racks!
Of course I grossly underestimated how much storage I would need so not all of my paints fit. I still have some 70+ paints that need a new home (all of my Model Air and Tamiya paints, plus a random assortment of other stuff) so it looks like I'll be building another one tomorrow. If anyone is curious I can give a run down of how I did it (it was pretty easy).

Nice!
I built mine with one of those wire cage-like modular things that hangs on the wall. They're just deep enough to put the paints 3 deep, which is great for compactness with Reaper paints in particular that come in triads of colors. If you build another, think about making the shelving a little deeper for something like that as it's worked out fantastically for me. You can use that for easily-grouped paints (shade/mid/highlight), and then use the original for the paints that are more on their own. As a thought.

My current paint storage had paints lined two deep and I couldn't stand it. I was constantly knocking down or moving paints to reach ones in the back and I get fed up with it and switched to the single row storage with this new rack. I just prefer the single row over anything else, but thanks for the tip!

Fair enough. I always take out all 3 paints at a time, even if I don't end up using them, so we just have different methods.

Build one!
I spent about $35 in material to build one of these and I still have some 1"x2" left over to start another one. I bought one piece of 1/4" thick white peg board (2'x4') and four 8' long 1"x2" boards and used a handful of screws. I own a miter saw and a circular saw that I used to cut everything to length, but I think Home Depot will cut you stuff for you if you give them measurements.
The measurements are as follows:
Peg board: 2'x2'6" (in hindsight, I should have left it 2'x4')
1"x2" boards: two 30" pieces, two 27-3/8" pieces, and five 28-1/2" pieces

I'd make my brother do it (he's a carpenter) but he messed up his shoulder...and knee...and hip.
But he does have all the tools.

Dude! Very cool man.
Personally I would want a lip on the shelves but I can be a bit ham fisted with stuff.

That has definitely crossed my mind.
I'm going to see how it goes for the time being and if I knock stuff off I'll go back and glue a piece of veneer on it or something to act as a stop.

Looks pretty good. I too would need one slightly larger.

I made one similar to that, but my carpentry skills are such that it looks kind of like garbage. Yours is way nicer.
I would definitely like to see a rundown because I also didn't have enough room for all my paint, and would like to try again, making it both larger and less awful looking. Perhaps stained Cherry?
I have a circular saw, and a jigsaw, but no miter saw.

Before mounting it on the wall i'd suggest putting some elastic strips running horizontally between each shelf just to hold the paint in.
Looks great.

Thanks everyone!
Since the neighbor kids were over for a sleepover with my girls, I was able to get some much need free time and went back to Home Depot to get the material to build another shelf. A few saw cuts and a couple hours later, I had two completed shelves! They were surprisingly heavy so I fastened them to the wall using 1/4" toggle bolts in the second row from the top and sunk a drywall screw on the bottom shelf in to a stud to ensure the entire rack was flush against the wall. This was the final result:
Keen eyed observes will note that the two shelves are different colors... I bought cheaper 1"x2"s to build the second shelf. When I redo my man cave/hobby area, I'll probably paint the racks white.

Kudos on the DIY racks! For people without the skills/time/patience google nail polish racks (or lipstick racks). Prices are not that much more than material cost for DIY, but of course you don't get a custom solution.
