Considering I just finished painting up my 6th assassin...but then again it's also a $20 dataslate. Anyone gotten a look at it?

Prolly the rules that got ripped out of the GK codex. I used to have one of each of those, I remember getting them back in like 05 or 06. I wonder what I did with that......hmmmm....

I was wondering about that. Does the Inquisition codex have the assassins rules? Because it's a few bucks more but has many more options.

Nah, Inq doesnt have assassins I wish they did. It'll probably be just like a mini inq though, you can take them and they dont use a ally slot.

Pretty sure they are ripping all the stuff out of the GK codex and releasing it as its own little mini-release. On one hand I get they want to de-clutter GK now that they have more units and are more of a real army than they used to be, but I am just meh with the concept of all these digital releases.

Yea, the iBooks preview shows them as an Officio Assassinorum detachment with 1 compulsory Elites slot and no optional slots. Hopefully that allows 1-3 assassins ($20 in rules to field one model would be lame). Looks like they get a command benefit "Operation Assassinate." I'm guessing it's some buff when targeting the enemy warlord, ICs, or characters, like preferred enemy or something.

I've got the old assassins codex from 324 B.C. but the rules aren't super compatible. I've had the assassins models since forever, but I think I've only fielded an assassin once. It'd be nice to put them to work. Right now Mr. Culexus is my stand-in Primaris Psyker.

The fact you had more expensive options to pick from is sad.

I look at the cypher dataslate as being more of a "sourcebook with some rules in the back"

It's still pretty expensive for what you get, but I think thats just the best way to see it. you're not buying the cypher stats for 30 bucks, but your buying a "sourcebook on cypher that also has stats"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
