Hey guys,
I currently only play 40k but have been looking to get into Infinity for a while now due to the stunning minis!
I've pre-ordered the Operation Ice Storm set but I was wondering if there is anything else an experienced Infinity player would recommend me picking up? I've found it quite confusing to find out for myself unfortunately. My local club is just starting out in it too so I couldn't ask there either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The Beasts of War video tutorials are a great place to start.

The best advice for 'what next' to buy is to play some games first and figure out what units tickle your fancy after learning the rules. There's no real 'bad' purchases in Infinity, but you can certainly buy a unit that doesn't work for you, either tactically or just due to the playstyle of it.

The starter forces in Icestorm have plenty of variety to get you going.

I'll be sure to check out those videos! I thought that actually playing would be best but the unit names are really confusing when starting out and I had no idea if the starter set would actually deliver a varied start for me, thank you for resolving that for me!

What Loki Said, basically.

Icestorm Week is a good place to start, as that highlights the new changes to the game that are coming with the new rules. No point learning V2 when V3 is just around the corner!

Demo game here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMqM3P0Md3Q&list=PLiqW3i2L-21WEnH674O1ywuxNP-5PPBOV&index=8

then have a look through the other vids!

I would advise getting support boxes for each faction included - it's one of those 'not-cool-but-oh-so-useful' things people tend to put off.

Unless you collect Nomads and get the Tomcat specialist set, which is the very definition of cool thanks to the inclusion of the Zondcat (which, for the uninitiated, is basically a robot cat/panda thing with a jet-pack!)

That was actually the first thing I bought for Infinity. When I saw that I knew I had to play Nomads.
Then I got some random Nomads because I liked the look, but now I'm getting things I think I need. Just finished painting some Geckos and will be getting the Chimera and the Uberfallkommandos.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

Uberfallkommandos ftw, I'm extremely curious as to what N3 will do to/for them.

I think the main thing you're going to want is terrain. And not swiss cheese 40k terrain, buildings with windows are OK, I think, but you want some strong LoS blocking structures so you have a reason to sneak around and outflank eachother. A big open field would have everyone on both sides dead after a few orders
