Quick question that googling doesn't give me the answer to!

If you run a crisis team with 6 gun drones and put a controller on one crisis suit do all 6 shoot at the suits BS or just the two that suit has brought to the unit?

It boils down to a RAW thing, although a 3 suit squad have a max of 6 drones technically only two can belong to any one suit.

If I was being an ass I would argue it only controls the two belonging to the suit but I'm guessing it doesn't.

All Drones of the mentioned types use the controller's score regardless of whom purchased the Drone in question.

another thing to remember is that drones belong to the squad, not the suit it was bought with. (or at least that is how I read the rules) This means that the drones are not removed until the last suit leaves play, yes?

Why would the Drones be removed?

Yeah, the Drones are just considered members of the unit. If the last suit dies, the Drones are just the last members of the unit.

I think you're thinking of a rule from the previous codex wherein the drones were removed from play if the model with the Drone Controller died.

Drones no longer require a Drone Controller and are treated exactly like any other member of the squad.

If you had a unit of 3 Crisis Suits with 6 Gun Drones, and all 3 Crisis Suits died, you'd be left with an Elites unit of 6 Gun Drones. They aren't removed.

RAW for the drone controller lets all drones in the same unit to use the BS skill of the model who has the equipment.

One of the benefits to the "Farsight Bomb" is that you can take Farsight, his seven Crisis Bodyguards and 14 Gun Drones (two per Bodyguard). You then take a Crisis Commander with two more Gun Drones and a Drone Controller.

That single Drone Controller gives all 16 Gun Drones shooting at BS5. It's brutal. In much the same way, you can give the Commander the Special Issue Wargear that grants Ignores Cover to his unit if he doesn't shoot and then you have Farsight, seven Bodyguards and 16 Gun Drones who Ignore Cover.

Most of the Tau Wargear works this way.

Left over habit from the 4e codex. If the drone controller was removed the attached drones got removed. Changing this rule was a bit of a buff to drones.

I'm sorry to have to do this, but it's "who" here, not "whom"...
Sowwy :/

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.
