For things like the ork gargants, necron megalith or tyranid dominatrix do rules for these exist or do you have to proxy them as imperial counterparts (ie a mega-gargant proxied as an imperator or a great gargant as a reaver or warhound)?

I think they only really exist in fluff terms, but they do have other superheavies. Most of which can be found in the Apoc rulebook and IA books.

Also, a mega-gargant being played as either itself or an imperator, you're looking at a model the size of a small child.

I know but I was wondering about them. I notice a lot of army's lack anything comparable to a phantom titan or a reaver titan in the apoc books.

yeah but most have smaller but cheaper suepr heavies. which are a more realistic option to take in the days of lords of war

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Well, the Reaver and Phantom only have common use thanks to Armorcast back in the day, and then Forge World finally did their version.
Armorcast also did a less well known great gargant. Hopefully when FW finally puts out the Warlord (and additional guns for the Reaver, since they share weapons) that their next uber-heavy will be a gargant for Orks.

Necrons have their Pylons and Tomb Complex, but most of their Super Heavy counters are not, themselves, super-heavies (Such as the Nightshroud Heavy Bomber, the Tesseract Ark, and the Sentry Pylon).
