Shame she passed away. I am well aware of her more… controversial remarks, but still sad to see her go.

I'm just blindly spitballing here, but as one of the first woman comics to make the big time in the sixties, I can only assume she felt she needed to be and edgy and risqué as possible to compete in the male dominated field.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Last time Joan Rivers was in the press she said the Palestinians deserved to be dead.

An apologist for ethnic cleansing deserves no sympathy, 0% mourning here.

Good riddance.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I never really heard about her until she passed away. I'm too young to have seen her in her 'prime', so there's no real point in mourning her, apart from to hope that her family can cope with this.

Good riddance.

I thought a mod had previously posted instructions in this thread to keep things civil.

Here's a link to some of her jokes.

I thought she was funny, but then, I'm an donkey-cave.

I am not mourning Joan Rivers, that is a perfectly acceptable and civil opinion, written with no harsh language attached..

I think it was the "good riddance" part. You can't tell me that's even in slightly good taste.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Good riddance is a perfectly acceptable sentiment. She was an apologist for genocide.

There are two sentiments that can be used:

I'm not sad that she is gone, which is civil.
I am happy that she is dead, which is not civil and is the one you used.

But I'm not that surprised at failures to follow red text in the OT lately.

And by who?

To add, I'm not sad she's gone.
