Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hello!

New to Houston. Looking to re-learn 40k. Haven't met any gamers, the WH40k Houston Facebook page is mostly quiet, trying to make acquaintances.

Is anyone alive here? =D

Terrifying Wraith

Houston

Hello! I live in the cypress area of Houston, and I'm in a similar situation. Ive got a space marine army that I've been tinkering with on and off for a while, but i don't have the newest codex or rulebook! If you would like to get some friendly games in, I'd be down to play a few! (fair warning: I am on the fluffy end of the gaming spectrum, and am not really that interested in playing hardcore 40k!)

Fantasy: 4000 - WoC, 1500 - VC, 1500 - Beastmen
40k: 2000 - White Scars
Hordes: 5/100 - Circle of Orboros

Fear not my new friend! I too am on the fluffy end of 40k. Years ago I was competitive, now I enjoy the fluff. And by fluff, I mean that I own almost every Black Library book, enjoy the 31st Millennium more than the 41st, and when I buy a Codex, it's usually days before I get to the actual units because I'm reading the fluff and comparing it to previous fluff.

I'm headed up to Ettin Games this afternoon to hang out and see if any 40k players materialize.

Hey Dash if you are ever in the San Antonio area come on by for some games / tournaments/ events. We are Red Star Gaming. www.facebook.com/redstargamingsa. As a matter of fact, this weekend (Sept. 6th) we are holding a 2v2 1000pt 40k tournament. Would really love to have you come out sometime. I started back in 5th edition with orks and would always read your tactics. Really good stuff. Got me excited to play my army.

Great to see another Ork player! San Antonio is a 3.5 hour drive though, and I'm not really into the tournament scene. I went to San Antonio in February for Seaworld's opening weekend with the wife though; planning on going back this fall when it's cooler.

That's cool. We have our casual game nights on Friday's at the store Heroes and Fantasies. You could find a game there if you are ever in town. If you ever change your mind about the tournament scene, we run bunch of different kinds of events ranging from: Team Tournaments, Singles, Themed, and Charity events like a canned food drive during the Christmas season. We post most everything on our facebook page and we have a group page ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/redstargamingsa/ ) for people to discuss the hobby as well. Drop us a line sometime.
