The Man The Myth The Legend.
To counteract the torrent of salt that has re-emerged since His recent departure, I'd like to encourage you all to share the ways in which the Wardfather has changed each of your lives for the better.
For me, it's the 5th Ed Necron codex. It introduced the gems that are Zandrekh and Trazyn and it gave me the freedom to create my own Necron fluff that I never would have had with the old "metal tyranid" Necrons.
How about you?
(Oh, and don't any of you dare say "leaving GW", that fruit's hanging so low it's a potato.)

Why that picture?
I am disappointed he never wrote my codex though, I would've loved actual internal balance with slightly crazy but interesting unique rules for chaos space marines, and Abbadon after all the issues that leave people thinking he's a useless failure could've done with some better fluff to make him more interesting.
He also wrote codex's that were far more balance then typical kelly.

Honestly I don't get why (other than internet hyperbole) he is so detested. His rules were solid, the fluff was good and I just can't see the issue.
Although I hear he did bad things in WFB rules wise though.

Considering that GW was incompetent before, during, and likely will be after Matt Ward, a lot of blame laid at his feet is largely uncalled for.
Still, the Spiritual Liege nonsense was garbage. He single-handedly made me not want to play Ultramarines. Which is kinda a mixed blessing, since I am loving my Crimson Fists (I wanted to play a Blue Space Marine army).

His rules were solid, and so were " OP! OP! ."
His fluff embodies what the units are. The SM codex was balanced perfectly. It focused mostly around the Ultramarines. Some people disliked that and thought it should have more balance between chapters, but at the end of the day the UM do make up about 60% of all SM in some form or another, whereas the likes of the Sallies for example are literally just their own chapter and a few possible successors. Draigo was what he was supposed to be: a living legend and mythical hero. The Bloodtide? There's a big thread going on about how that actually fits the fluff for GK.
Newcrons? That's the moaning of OldCron players. Key word being Old. As in, outdated. OldCrons were retconned.
At the end of the day e wrote solid fluff and decent fluff that appealed to the target demographic (12-14 year olds who want their men to be best of best of best) and people didn't like that he actually portrayed what the studio envisions for 40k and it wasn't what they wanted.

No, it wasn't. Here's how the story goes.
BA and Crons fight it out to the death. Nids show up. The BA know they can't win a war on two fronts. The Necrons deem it logical to ally themselves with an enemy that can be negotiated with that fight against 2 enemies. The enemy you know is better than the one you don't. And the enemy of my enemy is my friend. It makes 100% sense.
If the British and the Americans were fighting during the War of Independece, and the Native Americans rode in and outnumbered both forces 10:1, it makes logical sense to put aside your differences and fight against the foe that wants you both dead.

Logical sense maybe but also heresy. It would be like the Crusaders and the Saracens joining forces to repel a huge Mongol horde.

I agree in the common world it would make sense.. but in the grimdark future of 40k where only the emperor is the true god? Good sir i say nay! ¨NAY!¨

Well, I'm sure the BA thought a tad bit of heresy, with race that almost no one knows anything about (And isn't Chaos), is better than not existing at all.

We can do better than this.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
