FORTIS Exoskeleton
Spoiler:

Lockheed Martin is developing next-generation, unpowered, lightweight exoskeletons that will provide the user strength, endurance and flexibility.

FORTIS exoskeleton transfers loads through the exoskeleton to the ground in standing or kneeling positions and allows operators to use heavy tools as if they were weightless. An advanced ergonomic design moves naturally with the body and adapts to different body types and heights. Using the Equipois zeroGĀ® arm, operators can effortlessly hold objects up to 36 pounds, increasing productivity by reducing muscle fatigue and avoiding muscle injury.

That's some pretty interesting physics. It'd be nice to see a video of it in action once they've finished.

I want one. Does it come with red and gold plating and rocket boots, or do I have to add those myself?

And as above, it would be very cool to see in action!

Apparently something similar is already in use in Korea for dockyard workers.

That looks a lit more utilitarian than other exo-skeletons I've seen. Less of the white plastic the Japanese seem to go for at least. Give it a few decades and we'll see if this technology can be mass produced at a low enough cost for practical military deployment (beyond special forces and in supply depots).

Okay Skinnereal, I had seen the early XOS before but...

Springtail Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle
Springtail Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle
Trekaerospace
In 2001, Trek Aerospace ran its first test of the now-defunct Springtail Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle. The Springtail was considered for military development and even allowed for vertical flight. But ultimately, the project was deemed impractical and never took off.

The Springtail was unique in that it would allow soldiers to fly and hover, effectively taking the role of a personal vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle. The Springtail had a maximum speed of 113 miles per hour and could fly for 184 miles and carry a payload of 358 pounds.

I'm sorry, they developed personal flight exoskeletons and AXED THEM? Boo, I say, boo.

DARPA has a version I believe but they had issues with it to, things like power supply.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.
