Can Warlocks and sisters of thorn take lore of undeath instead of the pre-set spells?
Page 14, in the Introduction sidebar.
Unlike other spells, which can only be used by Wizards who list that spell lore in their special rules, any Wizard can choose to generate spells from Lore of Undeath.
The bolded part is actually bolded in the rules.
Debate.

No. Warlocks and Sisters don't generate. The BRB tells us how to generate spells. It's a specific method, and warlocks simply KNOW their spells.

I also believe that they are not wizards per se, but that they can spells / dispell as if they were lvl 2 wizards
Seems to be so close as to be the same, but I suppose it's important when it comes to stuff like the Hex scroll or some terrain pieces

The BRB also explained that there was a difference between "Generating" spells and "Knowing". I think it was actually in the first FAQ, it came up under the whole "If a wizard 'knows' spells x, y and z, does it prevent a wizard from selecting them when rolling for spells. Similar to Loremaster.
I read that sentence to essentially mean "When writing your list, you can choose Lore of Undeath instead of one of the other lores to generate spells from"

Yep, if you have access to any magic lore to generate spells, you can add "Undeath" to that list...

What about teclis? He's either Loremster, or he CHOOSES spells. In either case, he does NOT generate.

But warlocks and sisters don't have access to the lores. Nor do they generate spells. The cannot choose to generate spells. They know doombolt and soulblight.

Then he doesn't. Just like the Loremaster of Hoeth, he knows all the sig spells, but since he doesn't roll for spells he can't get any Undeath spell.

Under the lore of undeath it says that Any wizard can choose to generate spells from the lore of undeath. That means that both Teclis and the Loremaster can choose to do it either their regular ways for to generate spells for the new lore.
As for whether Warlocks and Sisters can use it I would say not as under them they are said to be considered a level 2 wizard and in the army list unlike other wizards were it is directly said they are wizards under their entries there is no such thing.

Yes. And the book tells us how to generate. Wizards who don't generate an't choose to generate. Teclis and loremasters don't generate. They choose their spells.

Also, Loremaster couldnt anyway, as it specifically states that he knows all eight sig spells from the BRB lores. So it caps the number too...
