.. guessing this ties into the invasion tag line we saw in WD ?
http://www.blacklibrary.com/games-workshop-digital-editions/warhammer-40000-planetstrike.html
Skies burn and worlds fall as the armies of the 41st Millennium wage war across the void. Out of the vast galactic darkness armadas of battleships bring destruction to far-flung worlds. From their steel bellies legions of assault troops hurtle down into orbit to meet the withering fire of ranks of grim-faced defenders. The warriors of the Imperium have learned well the lessons of planetary assault, for the sprawling Empire of Mankind is nothing more than a million worlds alone in the darkness. Each one must be a fortress against the void, lest alien warlords and renegade generals claim them for their own. Only the vigilant can hope to survive the constant threat of invasion, their gaze ever turned toward to skies, ready for war.
About this expansion
Warhammer 40,000: Planetstrike provides players with a host of new rules for bringing the chaos and carnage of planetary invasions to the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop. Inside its pages is an array of information, from Planetstrike Detachments and Warlord Traits to unique stratagems and missions based around the conquest of worlds. These can be used alongside your codex to forge your army into a mighty invasion force or an armoured wall of stalwart defenders. The fate of worlds is yours for the taking!

Not everyone has Sanctus Reach, though it's worth checking. It would be annoying to end up buying the same rules twice.

There were indeed a whopping 5.. maybe 6 .. pages relating to PS in the 1st Sanctus Reach book.
Just the basic mission IIRC ?
THink the follow up book might have had more in it....?

not much extra info there, alas.
No mention of a physical book either....
.. which makes one suspect this is just the rules from the Sanctus Reach books pulled out and bundled together.

Seriously though, I'd be interested in this, would be nice to shake things up at the local club, and I do find when you move away from playing 40K as a simple pitched battle, some of the issues do disappear. (Often to be replaced by new ones, but, meh, a change is as good and all that..)

iTunes has it at 44 pages, there are 8 pages in Red Waagh, all the screenshots I've seen match up to the book, so it is looking like just as you say, which makes me happy.

There are a few more pages in Hour of the Wolf, so it probably has those in it too to fill it out to 44 pages.

I really hope this gets printed in a hardback. Planetstike was brilliant despite poor adoption and critics... as was Dreadfleet [runs and hides from intarweb haters]

Not sure many people thought it was bad. It was just a bit abstract (EVERYONE can deep strike!) and like everything GW does, had no support after the first month of release.

What additional support does it need?
The whole game of Warhammer 40,000 from top to bottom is abstract. The attacker/defender style scenarios and detachments are what I think makes Planetstike appealing.

It seems to me that Planetstrike, Cities of Death and the original Apocalypse were all self-contained optional expansion rules which people could like and use, or dislike and ignore, according to the merits.
I don't see why people would want to buy a rulebook that is incomplete and requires you to buy more rulebooks to play with it.
