Same way beheading folks on camera is. Or showing folks setting off IEDs. Or lining up prisoners and firing AKs at them point blank.

Their target audience is not you nor people who think like you. They are displaying power and control, and the ability to force others to submit (remember, Islam is the religion of submission) or die. These videos are their version of 'swagger'.

The US is working with Iraq, quite a lot actually. They can't work with Assad for a variety of reasons, though they are flying missions over Syria.

Yes, but you should also not fall into the trap of divorcing them. There is quite a bit of overlap.

Murder in the name of Christianity specifically goes against its basic tenets.

At the risk of derailing the thread for one post, and in response to Frazzled 'who the heck is defending the IRA', I'll quote the above because I assume he has Baronlveagh on ignore - I was merely pointing out that calling the IRA 'precise' or claiming they generally avoided civilian targets, is total cobblers, that makes it sound like the civilians who were killed were unluckily walking past a barracks at the time. The two children killed in Warrington in 1993 for instance were in fact shopping with their parents. The IRA killed civilians both on the mainland and in Ireland, and targeted them deliberately on many, many occasions. I thought that the reason I made the comment was pretty obvious, as it came directly after the above, I should have quoted just to make it absolutely clear to anyone who struggles to link the contents of a post to the previous one. Nothing to do with Da Crimson Barun whatsoever.

I didn't at any point say the aims of ISIS and the IRA are similar, or make the asinine comment that a solution to the two would be the same either, or that the IRA are currently active, just that whenever any terrorist organisation targets civilians, its equally heinous and they are equally murderous. That's it. Please return your laser like focus to the topic now.

Once you do that, you'll see the point that was being made that you currently seem to be missing. Those teachings are very different.

god changes his mind all the time. compare and contrast the old testament to the new. If god sends a new prophet to update and clarify his message, why are you still using the old message?

It's like the operating system for the universe, why are you not running the latest version? the old testament is DOS 5.0, the new is windows 3.1, the koran is windows vista.
