Yeah, just thinking about it - theres only so far they can go running on just hate and brutality. You can't build a state from that (or can you?).
Either way though, you know that someone is making bank of this and doesn't care where it ends up in the long run.

ISIS is bad for everyone. The only "good" thing that may come out of it is Iraq may develop some kind of national identity and stabilize to face the threat.

Would this national identity be Shia? Or Sunni?

Well, seeing as Iranian Quds backed and led Shia Militia seem to make up the "Iraqi" armed forces at this point, and the Kurds are NOT gonna want to be part of an Iranian influenced/controlled central gov't and already enjoy a bit of autonomy, and seeing that the Sunni in Tikrit seem to be favoring ISIS over the Shia militia 'liberating' them, I would bet we are watching the destruction/division of Iraq. We may see a Iranian/Shia central gov't constantly fighting Sunni insurgents and a Kurd semi-autonomous region which basically tells them to feth themselves, but any chance of a federal type coalition/combined Iraq is disintegrating as we watch at this point.

It appears the Quds led Shia militias are burning down Sunni businesses and homes as part of the liberating process in Tikrit.

That will help unify Iraq and give them a national identity they can rally around.

Good deal. For a moment there I'd thought maybe they could work together and quit having a transnational vendetta war.

So apparently the US is now in a proxy war with itself? you guys so funny.
http://time.com/3759875/iran-fighting-yemen-iraq-us/
Tehran and Washington share an interest in re-establishing state authority in Iraq, but in Yemen their agendas diverge
Just to set the scene: In Iraq on Wednesday, U.S. warplanes began providing air cover to Iranian-backed militias in Tikrit, in a joint effort against the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) coordinated through the Iraqi government. On the same day, 1,200 miles to the south in Yemen, the U.S. was providing guidance to Saudi pilots bombing Shia insurgents who are supported by Iran. So the U.S. was bombing Iran’s enemies in one country, and helping to bomb Iran’s allies in another.
Meanwhile, in Switzerland, American and Iranian diplomats were resuming their intense talks about how to contain Tehran’s nuclear program. Both sides insisted the negotiations were confined to matters atomic, nothing else. And that’s a good thing, because the ever-complex Middle East has never looked more so than it does at this moment.

Because it was Obama who authorized the invasion that removed the military force that was keeping these idiots in check. Right.

Some action on this front:
Turkey decides to bomb IS while they're bombing the Kurds.
I suppose that makes them slightly more on out side, sort of.

Turkey doesn't like the Kurds, either. They've been engaged in military actions against them for quite some time now. Here, it's just targets of opportunity.

While the Kurds are a pain in the ass, ISIS represents an actual threat to Turkey, that the Kurds are helping keep in check. Mind you, Turkey has bee cutting back door deals with ISIS and stabbing us in the back before, so...

The Kurds may be a bigger threat than ISIS though, especially if they come out on top in the war against ISIS. Thousands of unified, hardened Kurdish warriors at its border looking for a new employment is something Turkey would rather never see. For them it is best to have ISIS and the Kurds fight each other as long as possible. So Turkey supporting ISIS at times may actually be a smart move (for Turkey at least)

Except ATM they have thousands of unified ISIS soldiers on their boarders and Turkey is on their list of states that need overthrown as well. Worst PKK want is a section of Turkish territory.
