Personal critique:

Make the Muyib Lt a standard Muyib, and make the Barid Hacker your Lt. This is for three reasons.

First, Muyibs want to be in the thick of the fighting. They are the responders, and demolition experts. That's not where you want your Lt to be.

Secondly, Muyibs have Dogged. You're paying for it, so you'll want to use it. Dogged ensures the Muyib dies outright. This is not something you want the Lt to have access to to remove temptation.

Third, the Barid is mostly going to be in your backline, hiding, shooting out markers and hacking from them. He doesn't need to get into the fight. This is the perfect place for your Lt.

Additionally, drop your Nasmats You won't use them. Your only doctor is in an offensive link, and using the Nasmats breaks the link. Drop the Chain of Command Farzan to a Forward Observer - you won't need chain of Command with a Barid Lt, he won't be in much danger. Unless you really want that shotgun and contender over a rifle and shotgun.

This will free up SWC from the Muyib Lt and points frm the Nasmats to upgrade your Ragik to the HMG variant. This guy is absolutely brutal and will serve you much better than a couple of Nasmats who can only be controlled by a link member, and will also put your Lt in a safer place. There should also be some points left in there for a Ghazi in a second combat group, who makes a great flanking 'living mine'.

The downside is you lose the smoke from the Muyib Lt. Personally I rarely use smoke and don't find it to be that much of a deal breaker. I'd much prefer a more powerful gun on my AD unit and a safer Lt.

Thanks! I kinda wanted the Ragik HMG, but wasn't sure where I would come up with the points and SWC.

I am kinda partial to Contender/Shotgun, though. (Neither CoC nor FO seem all that helpful in this list...I guess I could be a jerk and double Fiday...)

The fact that you had a Hacker, Doctor and CoC, I figured you were trying to keep specialists in there for objective based games. Swapping to the FO keeps a specialist without completely swapping to another unit.

If you want to keep the smoke LGL (it is rather helpful when you learn to use it), you can always keep the Ragik as a rifle (the weapons are getting more specialised in N3, and HMG's won't be as good at close to mid range, which is where a Ragik will probably land), simply swapping the Barid to the Lt and the Muyib Lt to the normal Smoke LGL is an option.

The main problem with Bahram is there just aren't many options. There's not many ways to expand the force unless you decide to include:
Ghulam, as cheap cheerleaders (usually if you want a few more costly Hassassin)
Ghazi Muttawi'ah, as anti HI/TAG or as living mines
Asawira, as your brick to the face HI

Daylami aren't worth adding, really. They're super cheap line infantry who are irregular, so their one saving grace, providing an order, doesn't happen, and for less points you get the awesome Ghazi. The Najjaruns only real place is if you have remotes or are playing ITS.

N3 is alleviating this somewhat. We know we're getting the new Hassassin Govad, a link team with options for MSV 1. There was also rumours of the Hassassin 'Panther' which might or might not be something else. But overall Hassassins just won't really have a lot of options.

Heh, yeah, I got this impression my options were kinda limited when I was in the mood to go buy something, and preferred to expand rather then start something new.

The N3 HMG changes do make the HMG Ragik a little less attractive for the cost...I have thought about going Ragik Hacker, as a specialist anywhere I want it would be handy for specialist based games.

...and, tbh, I didn't even realize CoC conferred specialist. Swapping him to the FO version does let me work in a Ghazi, who are pretty awesome.

Another way to expand is basically just expand into general Haqqislam, which then opens avenues to Qapu Khalki. The fantastic part of Infinity is that you don't need to buy an army book when you want to do that.

Buying, say, the Vanilla Haqqislam starter pack gives you the basis for a Ghulam link in your Bahram, but also some vanilla Haqqislam models. With what you have in your above list (I'm assuming you have these?) you can make a pretty awesome Hassassin focused vanilla list with some extra stuff like the Jannisary. Then you can just go about buying any Haqqislam stuff that takes your fancy.

After that, buying the QK starter box will give you a good basis to expand into QK. Add the Odalisque box you you've got a fantastic link, multiple Hafza and the sectorials best hacker, the Al Hawwa.

That is, of course, if you're interested in expanding out of Hassassins.

Yeah, I own almost everything I listed, plus the combat remotes. I like Hassassin thematically, but I'm planning on expanding into Vanilla/QK/Khanate when it comes out.

The QK starter box is probably my next purchase -- I got a deal on the Odalisques box, so I'm already most of the way to a QK list (and I'll eventually buy Icestorm, and a lot of the Nomad units are QK-compatible, though I'm not sure how the Mobile Brigada stacks up to the other HI options.)

I'm not 100 percent clear on how to use Hafza, though, and leveraging it to create link teams of doom seems like part of the strength of QK.

I actually rather like the panzerfaust limited camo inferior infiltration daylami tbh. He can successfully tie up a corner if he's in cover & his weapons are useful for that role. Both games I've used him he's been worth his points either in damage to the enemy's TAG or in helping herd HI/TAG within range of my hacker.

My issue there is Daylami are Irregular, and you shouldn't pack in too many Irregulars. Which means if you're bringing any, they're competing for space with the cheaper Ghazi Muttawi'ah. Ghazi also bring something different to the table that Hassassins sorely need - a way to deal with TAGs and HI quickly. Get an E/Marat off and watch your opponent cry.

But then, that's more just my playstyle talking. I've just personally never found a use for Daylami.

My list with Daylami looks like this:

Combat Group #1

Fiday BS (34|0)
Ghulam HMG (21|1)
Ghulam Sniper (18|0.5)
Husam Rifle (-0 bs, Viral Sniper Rifle, Hacker (Hacking Device), Doctor, Minelayer) (13|0|12xp)
Ghulam Lieutenant (13|0)
Ghulam Doctor (17|0)
Ragik HMG (38|1.5)
Barid FO (17|0)
Najjarun Engineer (17|0)
Kameel Minesweeper (8|0)

Combat Group #2
Fanous Repeater (8|0)
Kameel Minesweeper (8|0)
Rafiq Rifle (22|0)
Muttawi’ah Chain (5|0)
Muttawi’ah Chain (5|0)
Muttawi’ah Chain (5|0)
Daylami Camo (11|0)
Daylami Camo (11|0)
Daylami Camo+Rocket (14|1)
Daylami Camo+Rocket (14|1)

It's a decent list for table control in ITS. IT does have problems if you're not going first, but if the Daylami manage to land in camo, it should be OK. Will change in the new edition with all of them rolling at 7s, though.
