I was hoping that as they had stock this weekend

They would have started shipping today.

Nor mine. It's past the shipping date now, so if I don't hear something soon, I'll shoot them an email.

They got some stock last weekend - a couple of dozen copies came along with Bostria to ensure they had some stock for what was a release event.

Wayland's full order is supposed to be about 500 boxes. Even if all the unsold copies they received for the launch event were bundled off as soon as they could be spared from the shelves, there's no way they could have fulfilled every order.

I was a bit confused as I checked up on the status of my order; the website alternated between "awaiting payment" and "order does not exist".

One (quickly replied to) support ticket later and I find out that all is well and good. They're hoping to get it sent out next week.

I'm really looking forward to this!

Guys, fingers crossed we should have the rest of our stock early next week.

We had some copies for the Infinity weekend, very limited numbers sorted for us by Carlos, any unsold/uncollected copies were shipped off to pre order customers in date/time order.

Too long to wait for me, I went ahead and cancelled my order, going to buy from Element Games who have had stock available for ages.

This seems really odd. I pre ordered mine through an Australian online store, and got it 2 weeks ago. At a con they ran this weekend they had a whole stack of copies as well ready to sell.

And this is Australia. We get everything last.

We have been completely open about the delays. We obviously don't control when CB have manufactured enough to meet all orders. They have tried to ship stock country by country to distros who then ship them on to retailers. No matter what method they would have used, some people would end up waiting.
We ironically placed orders both direct with CB and their largest European Distributor. That largest Distro won't have the stock until Monday. When we placed those orders nearly 2 months ago, we had no way of knowing how stock was going to be allocated around as the estimated demand by CB was an unknown and taken everyone by surprise.

Yes its frustrating, we know, its annoying for us. We have sold 10 times more than any other retailer in the UK so its partly an issue of scale.

No offense intended at all. The bolded part is what I meant.

I do realise delays happen. It's just a weird feeling getting Infinity stuff in Australia weeks before people in Europe.

Weird, or glorious?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I feel bad that my O:I stuff is still all tucked away. I only took the book out for a quick nosey and a quick poke around the mini bags...

I feel bad for Wayland for getting all the flack which needs to be pointed at Corvus Belli.

I geniunely feel that they've botched this release so badly that it will cost them in the long run. I was hyped for Infinity when I placed my order with Wayland in July. I had plans to try and get Infinity going at my local club in a big way. I was spreading the new releases, trying to organise tournaments, etc. There seemed to a lot of excitement and interest.

It's now October, I'm bereft of Icestorm and I don't see me buying any more Infinity. CB have totally dropped the ball.

That's the reason I didn't cancel with Wayland actually, it's not something they can do anything about. That, and ofcourse at least now I can be sure that I'll get the limited model still, not so sure if that would still be available with other retailers.

But yes, even though at times Wayland can be pretty slow sometimes, this is a case totally out of their hands, it falls squarely at the feet of CB. That being said, I'm still looking forwards to the release and am still very much hoping to see a shipping notice at some point .

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I think the popularity of the release took them by surprise, going well beyond even their most optimistic estimates. I read figures of five times what they thought would sell over the time frame.

Exactly the same thing happened to X-Wing, ultimately they will catch up with production as it is ramped up to meet demand. And, you could make a big argument that it didn't hurt FFG too much in the long run...

But I want my toys now!!!!

I'm not that angrywith the delay to be honest. I just want a bit more info/an offer of goodwill.

Simple were supposed to have stock to ship on Monday did they? Has it been received? When are they actualy going to ship it? Will they refund postage for goodwill?

Honestly if your still waiting for icestorm at the moment will you go to Wayland for 3rd edition or angels book. id have to say no sadly (fyi never had to experience the wayland effect before, they have always been very timely)

Think the numbers for ice storm went

5000 to last through to next year
with a first run 1-2000 for preorders

total pre-order amount
around 8300

Warstore are getting theirs out, if its going in alphabetical order perhaps Wayland will (finally) be next. I do now have an offer from Wayland to preorder N3 however.

Incidentally the advert says the ABH is exclusive to the pre-order and won't be available separately, has that been confirmed?

Yes. There are other ABH variants, but the HI is N3-preorder-only.

I'm in the same boat. Just got the email for N3,too.

I know that the O:I delay isn't their fault, but it feels a bit peculiar to be getting emails to preorder it before Icestorm arrives - it's messing my head up!

Is there any chance of an update on when you expect to get the stock in? I know it's not Wayland's fault, but I do find it odd that the company that sold the most copies is pretty much the last to actually get the product.

I'd guess less than 25% of OP:Icestorm Retailers have had stock yet.

We should be getting ours early in the week, but with a big caveat that I have said that before based upon information we were given. So based upon the current information, Monday/Tuesday should be the day. All will be shipped within 24 hours of receiving them.

Re N3, I think we are confident we will have and ship them before anyone outside CB.

In hindsight, CB should have delayed the launch until all the manufacturing was done and shipments were in a position to go out. Hindsight though makes experts of all of us though.

I've just got my dispatch email, looking forward to it arriving now, and whilst I'm not averse to criticizing where its due, I don't think this is one where you can fault Wayland.

I'm loathed to criticize Corvus Belli to be honest, beyond them sending it out to different retailers at different times rather than making everyone wait, however, others getting it early didn't really affect me, so there isn't much harm done there either really.
