Once I get the outside of the main hull done a bit more I'm going to turn my attention back to those wings! Thanks

inmygravenimage wrote:That's excellent, consoles and chains look the business

I appreciate it

tauist wrote:Indeed, the interior detailing looks great!

Thank you kindly

inmygravenimage wrote:Oh! I had an idea about the non-existent elevators: you could take two hollow sprue frames, placed at the back (so either side of where the Rhino is parked) and then painted in to give the impression of elevator doors?

The empty space behind the Rhino is likely going to have exposed engines. I am attaching a picture at the bottom so that you can get an idea of what I originally had in mind for this interior, in my imagination the Thunderhawk was a lot bigger and when I tried to put it all in the model it just didn't fit.

gobert wrote:Man! You’re knocking this out of the park! Loving how much detail you’re cramming in and all of the screens are looking amazing. As for the lifts, can you move the consoles to the side walls? Or just put a panel in the floor in front of the with a rack and pinion on the side wall? I know that generally the Imperium likes railings, but you could emulate that other evil Empire! .

The lifts were going to be positioned between the two Rhinos, The idea was that they'd be part of the gangway above and they would lower or rise as a whole section of floor. I had runners that would be fastened to the interior wall and a railing on the outside edge but it was too much, With the lights I had the original walkways blocked the illumination then the Rhinos and ceiling rig clogged up the interior so everything had to change.
Thanks for your support with the build.

I actually think I might have overdid it... I did a test fitting with the roof, (with hooks, chains and cables attached) the cockpit and the tanks inside... not only can you not see a damn thing but one of the rhinos gets stuck! I've got Marines to go in the control booth and you just can’t see them!
More work to do

Magnets are your friend. Magnetize the roof so it stays on securely but can be removed at will to show off the interior.

Hi Thanks for following...

Unfortunately, that's not really an option for me. The layout of the lighting has the wires going into two separate parts of the roof, and parts of the roof serve as structural support. I guess if I has planned this build properly it might be a different story but the words "seat", "pants" and "fly" can be used in describing the design process and build of this Thunderhawk! I'm confident it will look pretty good at the end, but I also have to accept there's going to be a few compromises along the way!

Ah, well. It was but a suggestion. At least we'll have your pictures to remember that interior by.

Not a bad suggestion by any means. I just don't think I can do it.

The gangways are almost ready to be installed. Railings have been built and there's an addition to represent the lift tomorrow I should have them installed...
Oh I forgot. the broken Aquila inside the ship is no longer broken! Against all odds I found the piece of wing and it's back whole again!

Walkways have been added and I have to say it’s a little crowded in there! Once the Rhinos go in you won’t be able to see a damn thing!
I wish I had the brighter led lights but it is what it is.
Next I’ll start working on the outside. I’ll be adding things that aren’t on the original mini- spot lights, doors, Aquilae and other stuff.
