Hi Everyone,
This is my first post but anyway....
I was just wondering whether the Space Marine codex involves the Dark Angels chapter.
Because i have a small Dark Angels army and don't wish to have a codex with one chapter if the Space Marine 1 has all chapters.

Dark Angels do not appear in Codex: Space Marines - they have their own Codex (which it appears you already know)

Ok but say i was to buy a Storm Talon Gunship and paint up as a Dark Angel unit, would the storm talonbe in the Dark Angels Codex or would i need both codexes?

Be careful though lets hope they done end up like the Templars

Hello dude,

afraid Dark angels only have access to the units in there codex's plus the appropriate forge world units.

if you wanted to use a Storm Talon with your Dark Angels you would have to take a Space marines allied detachment.

So, you could paint them all Dark Angels and for rules purposes just count the as the appropriate marine choices, maybe make their shoulder pads different to help point them out for gaming purposes.

for example you could run a list like this.

Dark Angels Primary Detachment
Belial

Deathwing terminators

Deathwing terminators

landraider

landraider

Space marines allied detachment

Captain

Tactical squad

Storm Talon.

That is an awfully bog standard list but just an example of what you can do. apologies if I'm explaining what's already known.

welcome, and no, the dark angels are their own codex.

A strong suggestion if you have envy of the full Space Marine codex. Just use it (grave weapons) and paint your models like dark angels if you like their heraldry.
