Khymera down to 5++ but still Daemons, no mention of a change in point cost, how do you think this will affect a Iyanden beast star ?

Beastpacks are only 12 models max now.
And the Baron is gone.

Not sure if there even IS a beaststar anymore, now.

From what we have heard and if most stats and wargear are the same I can see a rise in lists utilizing clawed fiends and sslyth out the wahzoo. With some of the rumored price drops and options to fill those 1-12's how we want we may be seeing a much faster t5 s5 spam.

The beaststar may be weaker, but in trade you can take more of them in a single detachment. But I really do think clawed fiends can have their hayday now without that ridiculous 1 per master limit.

I was mostly asking from an evil Eldar standpoint

So if they are daemons now then they can be affected by cursed earth etc?

I can see a 6 fast attack beast pack combo with allied Cursed Earth casters.. I wonder how good it would do.

Y'know, BeastPack might not be the be-all, end-all unit they used to be but, they might still be very solid.

Beast rule is still, well... beast.

4++ down to 5++ not great but, I'll still unleash the dogs of war for them fast moving I saves to get into people's faces.

The guess that there will be less restrictions on the organization of the pack (e.g. all Fiends, or Flocks, or Doges, etc...)

I ran 5BMs with 5CFs a few times. Let 1 BM get popped on purpose for that unit majority T5. It is Super Effective!

T5 beasts with grenades and some kind of improved cover can break apart anything barring Land Raider spam, or other 14/14/14 spam... or Falchion GK Terminators but, that's to be expected...

The real hurt is the lost of Baron. 105pts for everything he had was a steal. But... if I wanna go unfluffy, I could always ally in a BikeSeer for BikeTarch... off topic I would suggest the Autarch as he starts with Plasma Grenades and can get the Shard of Anaris same as a Farseer. Grenades are NEEDED for BeastStar!!!

BeastPacks will still be usable in their own right but, I mean what other FA we gonna have? If the rumor mill is churning out truth, Reavers and Hellions are gonna be garbage; cheap $5 a squad on ebay garbage :p

Eldar (Craftworld Sahal-Deran) 2500pts. 2000pts Fully Painted.

Dark Eldar (Kabal of the Slashed Eye) 2000pts. 1250pts Fully Painted.

Just having a character with plasma grenades doesnt mean the beasts strike at init order. Does shard of Anaris give the entire unit grenades?

No. The Shard gives the model Fearless, which confers to the unit. The Autarch's Plasma Grenades do not confer grenades to the unit, it is on a per model basis. This was why (one reason) the Baron was so good as he had a piece of wargear that specifically gave offensive/defensive grenades to the unit he joined.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
