Well I use Discount_Games_Store they offer a 22% discount and $5 flat shipping to Canada.
That is 22% off the USA retail prices though so makes it more like 35ish% off Canadian retail.
They have a facebook page and website to get their pricing sheets and you just email to place an order

Ebay is by the cheapest place to buy stuff if you're willing to wait for deals. As long as you're not a seller you get all the protections as well. Been using it for a while now to buy armies and sell them piece meal for large profits.

China online stores. Really, it's even cheaper than e-bay sometimes and you don't need to spend time fishing for bets. And they won't have delivery problems. Heck, most of the stuff surrounding you is made in China anywayz.

This. If you're patient, you can get huge discounts on new and still wrapped boxes. Example: 2x 2013 Tac Squads with postage for 40€. GW price for one is 35€.

I don't think our customs are as lenient though. Some people I know had issues importing chinese resin.
Also, ebay: Look what my missus got me for my birthday (two months in advance . yay !) 1017€ of Eldar for 330€, pretty Ok condition, not much paint to be stripped, and a lot of it is going to be accepted in tournaments while I finish my current batch.

Anyeri, when you order chinese from ebay or such, just wait one month, then ask for your money back.
About 3% of packets just disappear, it's normal, they know about it, you just have to act before your timer is over.

No... How about not being a thief.
OP: Knockoffs, yoymart. Legit Forgeworld or the Warrstore. I get all my stuff from Amazon though. With prime shipping I spend 2 dollars more then all those 20% hobby stores on the kit but I get free shipping 2 day air (faster shipping means less likely to damage) and I don't need to worry about minimum orders. Plus, I work and I'm busy everyday. I don't have time to be waiting on archaic 1 week delivery and catalogues. The time you spend trying to save a buck... you could have worked and made 5 bucks.

Off topic fun fact: I got a Wave Serpent once without a turret. Someone linked me to yoymart and said they had it, so I ordered it. I had no idea it was a recast racket.
Gonna +1 to Amazon if you use Prime. Free, fast shipping is worth searching around for that little extra discount.

I'll echo this sentiment. Also, be wary of shipping rates. With some sellers the initial discount seems great but once you factor in shipping it may cost close to or even more than retail.

Cheaper is not always better. If there is a game store in your local area that you go to play at and they sell mini's there, that is where you should buy them from. By not supporting your local game store you are not helping to keep their doors open. Of course the mom and pop game stores can't keep up with internet pricing those places do not have anywhere near the same amount of overhead, but ask yourself this, is saving a few dollars worth risking losing your local gaming store? If you don't have a local gaming store than by all means go with whoever you can find.
For the record no I do not own any sort of hobby shop just an humble IT guy.

I think it's 50/50. I buy all my paints and what not from there, but 40k is expensive. I buy what I can from them, but sometimes the prices are too high.

They aren't worth it (imho)
~40-50% discount, and average quality at best - tons of work cleaning, patching, filling holes, dealing with problems and all through tough as nails resin.
If you are super poor, or really hate yourself, knock yourself out, but I'd avoid it based on the above without even getting in to the ethical/legal questions.
For me, ebay/trading sites are the best - always folks dropping new on sprue stuff they just don't want any more, usually 25% or better discount

For some models I can see that. Some are kinda ridiculous for what you actually get. It's definitely become more expensive from when I first played back in the day. I remember buying individual metal figs (regular man sized) for about 6 dollars at the local hobby store.

There is a "gaming store" and a hobby shop nearby. I go to the hobby shop for my things like paint and glues. Gaming stores have become so disconnected with the general population, it's ridiculous. It's like a scene from the Simpsons with that wierd obnoxious comic book guy. After a few attempts at consumer interaction, I now loathe the store. I look forward to it failing and bankrupting. Amazon gets all my business. Ive been to a few cities on the westcoast area and i can attest to the trend of rude wierdness that is common among "gaming stores."

Yep. Anything that is about the same price ( ADL for example, could only find on eBay for about $30 and that's the same price at the store) I buy, because I can get it now and am supporting my LGS. Anything where there's a large difference in price I tend to go for the cheaper option (gak from China excluded) Automatically Appended Next Post: Vigilant wrote: Derek L wrote:Cheaper is not always better. Strange, I heard a lot of good things about the quality, sometimes even better than ForgeWorld.
But then, I don't think I'd want my GW kits in resin either, and I think those are really the worst discount - I wouldn't consider them over ebay, which is cheaper, and removing paint is often easier than cleaning resin.
For the price difference, last time I checked, a Revenant Titan is $60. On ForgeWorld ? $326 Automatically Appended Next Post: Derek L wrote:Cheaper is not always better. If you take advantage of the promotional material (the tables), you should be buying some, or else there will be no more promotional material.

My army is about 50% store bought, 50% Amazon/eBay. My FLGS isn't open generally when I am awake (I work night shifts), so I tend to use Amazon for the combination of good prices and convenience. Overall, Amazon seems to have the best prices unless you watch eBay like a hawk.

Yeah, every time I think I have it bad, I need to remind myself that Aussies have it so much worse. GW really has it in for your continent. It is beyond reasonable that you would look elsewhere.

It's not that GW has it in for Australia, it has a lot of the way that retail operates, not to forget that we have very generous wages here that is dictated to the employer by Government statutes saying what is the minimum wage.
Our wages are high because of it, not to forget that GW stuff has an import tax and customs impost, not to forget as well our public liability insurance is one of the highest in the world.
Also GW is not the only ones who mark up their stuff, in Australia our mark up across the retail sector can be from 56% to 375% even 500% more, this the cost impost of doing business in Australia.
I forgot to say that GW's mark up is actually slightly less than market average.

I heard you can de-warp resin using hot water. Might wanna look that up.
It's also one of the reasons it gets warped so easily, it's really sensitive to heat.
