Exactly, everyone step away from the ledge.
Two detachments. Add a force and all that jazz.
One CAD
One Formation
So...two...detachments...(read that again if it helps)
Read my posts again and try to add a Riptide wing or Forge host formation to a primary Detachment as described above. This shouldn't be so hard to explain. Particularly with the "know it all" approach being thrown around in here, dude...

So I am unsure what the issue is you are exactly having... but yes.. as you stated.. and too recap.. you have a CAD of whatever faction you want. Since Riptide wing is a Tau specific Formation, you will need to add an additional force, then add a 'Formation detachment' (in the dropdown), then add tau/kauyon/Montka 2015, as the faction (in the second dropdown). Then when you go into your army list, you will see both detachments. Regardless of which is your primary, under the formation detachment, you select "riptide wing" from the list...
This is a more detailed explanation of what the other guys were saying in less words, but not incorrectly.
Cheers!

OK, I knew/know all that but thank you. At least we are moving forward.
Now that I'm talking the same language as someone else. OK, Riptidewing now works as an add a force(didn't a couple of weeks ago, guess I should have checked hehe).
So now being on the same page. Try to add a CD Forgehost. There's others too, but this has been way to painful.

Ork HQ's seem to have lost the ability to take Mega Armour, both Warbosses and Big Meks. Unless the option has been moved and I'm not seeing it?
Nevermind, I see. At some time in the last few months two new HQ entries were created for "Big Mek w/ Mega Armour" and "Warboss w/ Mega Armour". I'm not sure I understand why these separate wargear-specific unit entries were created. Meh, it works I suppose.

There are a bunch of errors in the gladius:
It allows you to take formations that are not part of the gladius:
Pinion Battle Demi Company (if you select CT:RG)
Hunting Force & Stormlance Demi Company (if you select CT:WS)
Bladewing Assault Brotherhood
Speartip Strike
Stormbringer Squadron
None of these should be in the Gladius.
If you're operating under the (incorrect) assumption that all command/core/aux formations are interchangeable then all of the choices from the Scarblade & Talon should be available and Pinion, Hunting & Stormlance should be available regardless of chapter tactics since they have no chapter tactics restriction.
Either way it's wrong in it's current state.
Talon Strike Force:
Allows chapter tactics other than RG and doesn't flag a validation issue.
Is missing:
Shadowstrike kill team
Raptor Wing
Skyhammer Orbital Strike Force
Shadow Force
Ravenwing Assault Group
Shouldn't have:
Armoured Task Force
Centurion Seigebreaker Cohort
Landraider Spearhead
Speartip Strike
Stormbringer Squadron
Scarblade Strike Force:
Allows chapter tactics other than WS and doesn't flag a validation issue.
Is missing:
Strikeforce Ultra
Shouldn't have:
Bladewing Assault Brotherhood
Centurion Seigebreaker Cohort

Where you quote the rules, like rending page xx brb, can you do that for the dark vengence rulebook?
Like
Rending pg xx (DV:yy)

Hi, I noticed something weird in the Codex:Orks Combined Arms Detachment selection after updating my repository this morning. There is a "Waaagh! Ghazghkull Options" under the "No Category" tab.
As far as I can tell all this does is enable Waaagh! Ghazghkul Supplement relics for a normal CAD but I cannot find anywhere in the Supplement that says this is allowed.
I hope it is; that would make my lists much better

The new book doesn't have that detachment, so when someone specifically asked us to extend this option to work in a CAD, I figured: sure, why not? I don't see anything that prohibits it.

I've seen people argue the legality of using the supplement relics in CAD, but no real decided outcome. Are you suggesting that the wording in the relics section implies that it is allowed or is it just a generalization?

Reading it again, the new edition does still say the Gubbinz can only be taken with the detachment/formations in the book. I'm leaving the option in, but I'll add a rule stating they can only be used in a CAD "for friendly games / with TO approval", or some such.

There seems to be missing options for the Chaos Space Marines v195, given that you choose Crimson Slaughter many of the HQ choices go missing, from what I can see the following are missing: Daemon Prince, Abaddon, Ahriman, Kharn, Arkos, Necrosius, Typhus, Lucius, Huron and Fabius.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

IIRC it's because the wording changed: nothing in a CS detachment can have VotLW
