MCs has always been a big thorn on the side for non-Flyer Necron armies. My question is, how do you take care of them? Several options exist (Triarch Stalker? Mass Warriors? Hell, Heavy Destroyers?) yet not one seems to be a key answer.

If you've got any ideas.... please do share.

Deathmarks with a harbringer of despair are pretty much one of the best MC hunters necrons have. There is also the AAbarge drown them in wounds tactic, and we have our own MC to go toe to toe with spyders and the C'tan shard. Spyders are better on a practical use but take up a heavy slot and the c'tan shard is over cost for what it does but is still a tough MC to bring down sans anti-tank

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

Immortals, some like the AP3 ammo, others like the tesla, personally, I think its whichever you find more useful vs others, I would say the tesla, as its good horde clear too.

deathmarks work well.

I vote scarab swarms and spyders, have the spyders make swarms over the distance, and let the scarabs soak wounds for the spyders. this also works well vs horde nids.

Problem is Scarabs usually get 1-shot my MC in cc... making them no better than small-numbered Fearless Guardsmen.

Feels like AAbarge is the answer to EVERYTHING these days.... horde infantry, elite infantry, tanks, MCs.... Flyers.... the only thing it can't reliably kill are Land Raiders and hell, who cares about those when you have Gauss lying around?

eh, swarms aren't expensive, and they are great in a melee vs gaunts and other things, besides, as long as one lives your sypder can keep making more IIRC.

D & D squads

Do note that abyssal staffs are really good at putting wounds on some MCs (those with LD 8 or lower) even when not attached to Deathmark squads.

bargeLords with MSS and Tesseract Labyrinth

6 X Wraiths with rending, 2W, and 3++ hold up well. Add a Destroyer Lord with MSS and you can take down all but the roughest of MCs.

Some goofy monster killer squads can be made out of wraiths with transdimensional beamers attached to Obyron.

Or a 5 x necron lord squad armed with 3 x MSS and 2 x WS and a resOrb can jump in a Ghost Ark turn 1, move flat out, and then leap out of the Ghost Ark turn 2 to assault the meanest MC around. That MC will never get past the MSS.

Only problem there is the Beamer is a heavy weapon, meaning you're gonna need to attach a Phaeron to grant relentless so it can fire after teleporting...

Yup, you are right. I forgot to mention they need to be attached to an overlord with phaeron as well.

Makes the squad seriously expensive me thinks.

Yup that's why I said goofy. Would probably only be points efficient in a match-up versus a Pacific Rim style list.

The necron lord MSS attack squad is a lot more viable.

Overlord on CCB with scythe, mss and phase shifter will take mcs down. Give him a res orb if you are worried about failing the 3++ against the single smash attack if it hits and wounds.
Fast enough to catch one, deals wounds on the sweep, then has a good chance of making the mc hit itself before doing another wound or two with the scythe.
Probably won't take one out in a turn from full wounds but will usually come out on top after a couple or more phases.

6 wraiths, d-lord with scythe and mms. Lots of rending attacks rerolling 1's to hit and wound. Mss also a big bonus. Fast enough to catch them.

2 royal courts with 5 destruckteks each. 5, 5 man warrior squads, each with 2 attached destruckteks. 10 st8 shots getting past armour. Not the most efficient for points - but still an option. If going against multiple MCs - two CCB overlords wipl unlock these.

Also 3 spyders - fight mcs with the dirt cheapest mcs in the game.

The problem with the Death & Despair Squad is that the flamer is only going to do a single wound against a single model. Yes, you could attach a second Despair-tek to the unit, but that's, again, only another single wound.
Against MCs with lots of wounds this isn't going to be very effective. You're probably better off adding more Deathmarks to the unit.
If you're hunting monsters, the best thing you can add to a Deathmark unit is a Destroyer Lord. Rerolling those hit and wound 1s is going to make a world of difference if you can turn them into 6s.

Actually, I'd be interested in seeing the mathhammer/cost effectiveness on those three different builds all around the same point price:
• 1 D.Lord + 5/10 Deathmarks (255/350)
• 2 Despair-tek + 5/10 Deathmarks + Night Scythe (255/350)
• 7 Deathmarks + 7 Deathmarks (266) / 6 DM + 6 DM + 6 DM (342)
Versus
• Wraithknight
• Riptide
• Dreadknight
• Flyrant
• Daemon Prince
Etc.

the flamer will only get 1 wound vs a single model yes but its an extra wound on top of rapid fire deathmarks and if the MC lives next turn it won't wanna charge into them for melee assault. I personally also like using a triarch stalker for TL on everything i shoot i with it. Also speaking of stalkers there are the FW option stalker and the tesserack Ark

Destrocourt is pretty good at it. Deathmarks as well.
