I need an opinion regarding some not so talked about Ork tactics.

In lieu of nob bikers.

Take a warboss on a bike with lucky sticks, Klaw
Take a pain boy on a bike

Squad of 5 deffcoptas with buzz saws

Deffcoptas give the unit scout and hit and run. Lucky stix give the unit waaagh banner equivalent of +1 WS

This unit is way cheaper than nob bikers with full Klaws.

What do you guys think?

Buzz saws on Deffkoptas aren't very good because it only makes them S6 (S7 on charge)

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).
Keep on rolling

I believe it would be STR 8,

Furious Charge adds +1 to the characteristics which makes him STR 4 then x2 for buzz saw

I've used bikerboss + koptas back in 6 ed with the old dex. And it was fine in smaller games. It's still good in 1250< games but later on, biker boyz are just winning out cause you can take 15 of them and they have 3+ cover.

It's written in the rulebook, x2 applies before +1. So, s7.

Can you tell me where to look on the BRB about that? I don't see it in the special rules section for the FC rule

With the warboss showing up at S10, does the rest of the squad really need S8?

It's somewhere in the beginning. When stats are described, iirc.

Pg.8 in the BRB under "Modifiers" and "Multiple Modifiers".

As far as the tactic goes I think it's okay but not great. The points difference between a Nob Biker with a Klaw and a Deffkopta with a Buzzsaw is balanced. There's a big difference throwing three attacks base at Strength 8(9) then two attacks base at Strength 6(7). The twin-linked Big Shootas are better than the Dakkaguns and the Hit and Run/Scout abilities are good. I guess overall it just depends on what you're looking to do with them and what you're current meta in your local area is. I know in a heavy Imperial Knight meta I'd much rather go with Nob Bikerz but to each his own.

You must not have seen the apoc formation which allows 30 koptaz to cut things with their rotors, with a decent chance of self-destruction, of course.

That said, I agree with HawaiiMatt and Waagh 18 here. You already have a warboss with 5 S10 attacks and rerolls, there is absolutely no need to spend a whooping 125 to get S7 attacks. If the warboss doesn't kill it, the koptaz won't either. Nob bikers with all klaws are just as bad - you simply don't need that many.

Just keep your koptaz cheap and have them be ablative wounds for your warboss and pain boy.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Yeah, S7, that's why they are so good vs tanks!
I always field buzzkoptas vs IG, as they are very good at damaging/taking down their toyz (S7 vs rear armor 4tw).
But it may be a personnal taste

And also don't forget that coptaz don't come with a charecter in squad so you will acept chalanges with warboss or painboy and loose em first versus good mele fighter ! leaving you with bunch of coptas truing to roll 1-2 to hit and run , I had a copter stuck in 4 cultists for 3 turns and die so yeah . . .

They start to shine when you have a kopta stuck in 4 lascannon devastators for three turns
