I thought it was the same dude? Cursory research it was a Dameon Clarke who did Handsome Jack in both games. The difference in the voice is probably in part from the hearing not through an Echo device, and he's younger and not as evil in the pre-sequel.

Either way, the more voices are welcome.

And the lasers are all fething awesome. I've been a huge fan of Dahl weapony, and Dahl lasers are excellent. Then again so are Maliwan's and Tediore's.

Seriously, the scaling is soooooo much better. Way happier with that change alone. Things feel useful for longer than a level or two. Loot generally feels improved too.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I liked BL2 a lot but I also sort of feel like I milked the franchise for whatever enjoyment it's possible to get out of it. I watch the trailer gameplay videos and I think... eh, this seems like sort of a long DLC or an expansion, I might as well just play more BL2.

I dunno.

You're right, Blacksails. Once his voice came on the echo device, it was clear it's the same guy. My roommates and I were discussing reasons for a potential different VA-his injuries leading to a voice change, money, guy not wanting to reprise his role, etc. Glad to see he's back though.

I think if Claptrap weren't playable this wouldn't have been nearly as anticipated. I saw a few playing earlier and every single person was playing him and when I cam by later it was a different group but all still him.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I really want to get this, because playing through BL2 with my brother over the summer was amazing, but I have all 4 DLCs from the second game that haven't been touched (due to returning to university), and the money to buy either this or pokemon, so I think this might wait a while, sadly.

I'd bet money he's pretty attached to the character. Jack is, uhhh, colourful, to say the least.

Someone did an AMA on Reddit as him, though I'm not sure who was actually behind the mask. The whole thing was in character, which was amusing.

When i come home from work friday, i will start playing.

And yes, BL2 was great too and i probably take it up again now, but i have played the basic mission with each of the 6 characters and have also played all DLCs several times.

So a new BL is VERY much wanted.

My copy showed up last night, I only had about an hour to play it though. So far it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm playing as Claptrap, so I might be missing part of the game though.

I played a little of it (I did not buy it) I got maybe 2 hours in and the SJW crap was too much for me. I won't be buying the game.

What SJW crap?

Honestly, are people looking to be offended by games nowadays?

*Edit* Anyways, I'm enjoying the game. Lvl 17 now, and having a blast with lasers. You can actually play entirely using Lasers and not miss any of the other weapons, barring Torgue stuff for EXPLOSIONS! With the lasers you get a shotgun version, sniper version, SMG/Assault rifle version, and a unique constant beam of death version.

I ran into a bug though where I couldn't complete a mission so far due to AI pathing. I'll try again in a bit, so there's my first real issue with the game.

There is not this idea.

Dude's probably trolling.

I'm going to have to wait for a sale, so it might be a while before I get a chance to buy this one.

Maybe, but if I wait till christmas I can get this and play through it with my brother(and thus not have to play single player/with people I don't know), whereas I can enjoy Pokemon by myself/between lectures

For anyone curious, here's that AMA. I honestly am not sure if it's just a fan or one of the writers from the game, because Anthony Burch (lead writer of Borderlands 2) actually did a different AMA in-character as Mr. Torgue from one of the DLCs, so it might be the same guy.

I am jealous...
I hope it has arrived before i get home in an hour of 5...

I will start playing ClapTrap.
Nisha will be next, after i found a good basic point in the game (storyline) where i can store items and can level the other characters to.

And after that the others and then i go on with the character i like most.

I am SOOOooo looking forward to playing...

Wilhelm is getting a little ridiculous now at lvl 20. With Laser Target or whatever its called, I add 5 secs to Wolf's duration for every kill, which also triggers my kill skill which grants Wolf and I increased fire rate. Now you add on maxed out Rolling Thunder which adds a stack every 5 secs, with each stack increasing Wolf's damage by 10% each, and before you know, Wolf is one-shotting badasses.

I'm in heaven.

At lvl 50, I'll have a maxed Wolf doing stupid damage, and a maxed out Saint instantly charging my shields and handing out other crazy buffs. I <3 Wilhelm.

His dialogue is also pretty ace.

"I kind of feel bad for killing that AI. Or maybe I'm just jealous she got a cool robot chassis. I dunno, whatever."

I want to be a cyborg now.

I'm close to finishing the game now, I can feel it. Already started up a second game with a friend as Athena, which is fun.

WE TALKING ABOUT BORDERLANDS WELL F***!

I am a big fan of the series (obviously) and I have been playing for last couple days and all I can say is it is great! Story is cool characters all have some awesome features!

Playing clap trap right now with friend and Clappy is awesome! Random Vault hunter abilities fact that he has really funny dialogue makes him a worth time character! Plus he is total team oriented helping with health regen and his final "high five" Is just hilarious!

THEY'RE FETHING JUMP PACKS!! OF COURSE THEY'RE FETHING AWESOME!! GO PUNCH YOUR NEIGHBOR SO HARD HE EXPLODES FOR ASKING SUCH A STUPID QUESTION!!

The Mr. Torgue talk will continue until you're all properly motivated into loving this game.
Also, jump packs are fun, but not game changing. Unless there's some fantastic legendary O2 canister, similar in power to what the Bee shield was in BL2.

The verticality is a nice touch. I don't use it so much personally, but it adds a new dimension. A lot of the Oz kits (jet packs, replace relics) create an incentive for you to jump and be airborne as much as possible, with bonus damage, accuracy, grenade boosts and so on. Others are fairly basic, but still nice to have.

They're not a game changer by any stretch, but its fun enough.

BORDERLANDS is a good one again.

Played Claptrap for quite a while. This will be my main character.
VERY funny, unpredictable and also: does not need oxigen :-)

Also played/tried Athena for a while and playes totally different (as i hoped) and like that too.
But: does need oxigen ;-)

I like the JUMP-aspect and verticality in the game.

Picking Claptrap as a character was amusing. I played him until lvl 10 when I switched over to Wilhelm and his drones of doom. Thats pretty much where I spent the weekend.

My favorite little bit of dialog so far was Tiny Tina's appearance asking everyone if they wanted to play Bunkers and Badasses again. I really hope they release another Tiny Tina DLC! It was my favorite of the Boarderlands 2 DLC.

Oh man.

OH man.

Playing co-op with a buddy who's running Clappy. Originally specced into 'I LOVE YOU GUYS' tree for some nice buffs. Stumbled across a purple class mod that boosted a few skills in the boom trap tree. Re-specced into that, and sweet mother of explosions is it ridiculous. He pretty much walks into a room and drops the bas -- explosions everywhere. Torgue fiesta coupled with a constant explosive nova and other explosion buffs turns him into Torgue's personal AMBASSADOR OF EXPLOSIONS.

Then, for good measure, I'm running Athena and just re-specced into Ceraunic Storm. What a ridiculous combination. I just chain lightning and fire everything while my buddy explodes them all. Comically amazing.

If you're playing Athena, I urge you to run a Ceraunic Storm build. Phalanx is boring, Xiphos can be good, but the storm tree just gets ridiculous with Maliwan SMGs and Lasers. I'm pretty much already playing Bunkers and Badasses with all the 'LIGHTNING BOLTS!' I'm casting. Stacks for dayzzzz.

Having a quest from an angry lesbian to kill a man that hit on her?

The depiction of all men in the game as either bad guys, morons or very feminine.

The one clearly straight female character is a whore?

That's all I needed to throw the game in the trash. Glad I didn't pay for it.

Just a heads up to the thread, this is going to remain about the pre-sequel, it will NOT become about feminism, social justice warriors, male rights activists, what have you. It's about a game, plain and simple.

I also love aaaaaaall the references that seem tailor made for us Aussies. 'Oh we arrived here on the first fleet, well they weren't actually the first here but they just called themselves that'. Hahahaha

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Well I guess if you over simplify everything and look for reasons to hate something, you'll probably find it. I guess there's a thread for you bobbing around this board if you wish to discuss this 'SJW crap'.

Anyways, I'm sure the Aussie jokes would be funnier if I was Australian. Still, the accents are a nice change of pace.

The second play through has some funny dialogue, and I just got on Elpis.
