Subject: The NEW INFINITY News & Rumors Thread - The latest "FOOT" teaser on Pg. 38!
I'm mildly surprised that they're apparently softcover rulebooks. I guess the GW switch along with most of my RPG purchases over the past year have ingrained hardcover as the modern standard for me recently.

It's always been the case that this is the main rulebook and wouldn't incorporate Human Sphere and Paradiso. I've not been pointing that out repeatedly for no reason. :(
I know. We all knew. However, people were still not certain whether some HS rules like weapons or even fireteam rules would be in N3. Hell, even Spitfires are HS weapons and those things are quite common everywhere; I was at least expecting some of this stuff, not the lore, to be updated into the main rulebook.
Weapons and rules, nothing. There's an entire faction in the Human Sphere book, and an entire faction in Campaign: Paradiso.
And if you watched the most recent Infinity Week videos, Bostria was discussing how the newly-invented-for-N3 command tokens would be used for link teams instead of the lieutenant special order.
So speculation that N3 was somehow going to drop the two most recent factions, and the most recent rules, seems a bit uninformed.
The question, really, was more "Would it be in the main text, or in the erratas to the other two books?"

Yeah, you can see from the picture. I don't recall, if this information was ever directly stated (later teasers or on one of the podcasts). Bit of a trivia play on my part.

I especially liked the guy going pew pew with the models
Books look really sleek, definitely going to have to buy them even if I won't be likely to get in m/any games. Production value alone is worth the trip

Yeah, it was always clear that all the bits of Human Sphere and Paradiso wouldn't be in the main book. But Human Sphere and Paradiso also had a lot of things that actively errata'd the core book (and some stuff in Paradiso that fixed up bits of Human Sphere).
This is going to be a little bit more onerous if the core book references the supplements quite a bit. Cross referencing multiple rulebooks is one of the reasons folks tend to like seeing a new edition. So hopefully the rules PDF will be all inclusive at least so that I'm not flipping to different files to reference rules (I mean, if they are going to take 3 months to release it, it would be nice if it were more functional and modern than the previous bare-bones PDFs they put up on the site; bookmarks wouldn't kill 'em at least).
And of course it begs the question on things like the Infiltration whether it will use the versions updated in Human Sphere (where infiltration became leveled) or if it will pretend other levels don't exist, use an errata'd N3 version, cause you to reference Human Sphere... which will need errata to work properly with the new scatter rules for deployment.
I think that would be less than ideal, I'm less bothered by the thought of completely new things not being in there than I am of having to double-errata rules causing folks to reference even more documents in play. So here's hoping the PDF rules will be all inclusive and contain up to date and errata'd versions of all the rules as they stand in N3 (since it is expecting a bit much from the core books which must conform to a specific size). So long as there exists a single document which can be used as a one-stop reference somewhere, then we have an improvement over the current situation.
If the inception of N3 means I need my N3 rules, Human Sphere, Human Sphere's N3 errata, Paradiso, and Paradiso's errata... then I am going to be a bit unhappy. I mean, the wiki is usually robust enough, but I don't want playing Infinity to either require a stack of documents OR an internet connection. Having, at the very least, a PDF document containing the compiled rules from all the books, updated for N3 would be ideal. Especially if they were formatted to be read since the documents we have now lack any kind of modern amenity expected of a PDF eBook (bookmarks mainly) and are just about the most un-optimized documents in my library (loading pages is sluggish, which sucks because they are quite low res despite the size and slowness).
A proper living rulebook online is currently what I'm hoping for.

We can't always get what we want, though :(
The big thing is that as of right now, we've seen nothing suggesting an updated Ariadna starter set, which likely would be a place to release the USAriadna Grunts similar to how the new CA starter is effectively an EI starter.
I'm hopeful that we'll see them sooner rather than later, but we all know where hope leads...

I never know what people mean by a "living rulebook". How does what you want differ from the wiki, if it were updated to contain the 3rd edition rules?
Don't be crazy counting palettes and all that stuff.
I posted this photo on my FB profile instead on the Infinity profile (FAIL), showing you an amount of boxes full of books that were picked up by the carrier early this morning:
Today were shipped a REALLY BIG amount of books, some of them will arrive tomorrow to USA (east coast) and others in 2 days, 3, 4...
And that's all the info I can give to you
N3 is here!
In case anyone needs cardboard boxes to look at.

Yes, some of US distributors will receive the books tomorrow-on friday. EU, on Monday. Australia maybe on Friday/Monday.

And direct orders? Being sent out at the same time?
“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I think Koni is referring to the release of the USA Grunts box / new USAriadna starter.
Hoping against hopes that Warstore will be getting their shipment fast, being on the East Coast, and it goes out to people fast also. I would love to have N3 next weekend!
