I was wondering which one people thought was better. They are equal points, equal strength, the only difference is that one of them is AP 2 instead of AP 3. Which one do you prefer and why?
For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

Honestly? Neither. You're putting extra points into something that will likely miss. Meks repair, and eat challenges. They're not good at shooting, so they don't get fun shooty stuff. If you're being fluffy you can take either, meks love to make things go splode after all. AP2 is nice, but if you do roll that 1 you're going to be really mad that your mek died, so for that reason, I'd probably go rokkit, if I absolutely had to. But tankbustas and rokkit buggies are a way better investment
I use KMB on mine. Stick them with my 30 man shoota boy mobs with 3 rokkits for a 4th S8 shot. I run them with a Painboy so the few times it does get hot, he is saved by Tshirt or FNP.
- Neva trust a Deff Skull , gitz just wanna take yur lootz
- Only good Deff Skull iz a Ded one !
I'm usually put him with some Lootas (for the mob rule) so a gun is necessary

Meks are for dying in challenges. If you want to spend 5 extra points on their shooting, go with a rokkit - at least, he won't die before a challenge. And statistically, when he shoots KMB, a chance of killing himself with an overheat is really close to a chance of killing his target. It's hilarious in an ork way, though.
Spoiler:
Chance to die of an overheat:
1/6 to overheat, 5/6 to fail armor = 0.14 wounds
Chance to die of an overheat with fnp:
1/6 to overheat, 5/6 to fail armor, 2/3 to fail fnp = 0.09 wounds
Shoots a regular guy in the open:
1/3 to hit, 5/6 to wound = 0.28 wounds
Shoots a guy with 5++ or 5+ cover:
1/3 to hit, 5/6 to wound, 2/3 to pass save = 0.19 wounds
Shoots a guy with 4++ or 4+ cover:
1/3 to hit, 5/6 to wound, 1/2 to pass save = 0.14 wounds
Shoots a guy with 3++ or in 3+ cover:
1/3 to hit, 5/6 to wound, 1/3 to pass save = 0.09 wounds
Let's face it - most 2+ stuff will have 4 or 3 save anywayz or at very least 5 save.

I take the KMBs because my meks are modeled with them. None has ever died to overheat, and they have even managed to kill somebody. The main problem with meks is they can't take gitfindaz that would definetly make the KMB or Rokkit launcha more relyable.
Rokkit. The KMB doesn't have a lot of synergy with lootaz who can't ignore armor either, and you don't want to kill the very character you added for mob rule.
Personally, I'd probably just leave him without gun and stick the rokkit on a wagon or something.
7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.
