Hacking Interventor
|
So far my collection includes
Aleph Starter box
Aleph Steel Phalanx box
Bakunin starter box
Reverend Moiras box
Reverend Custodier Hacker
Zonds box
Daktari
Sin Eater Observant HMG
Zoe&Pi-Well
And in addition yesterday I FINALLY got my Icestorm box.
So that also means the new Pan-O starter and the new Nomad Starter plus the Father Knight and Reverend Healer.
Plus the CSU mini.
With this in mind I may as well build up a proper Vanilla Nomad and Corregidor list for the time being. And later when the Tunguska sectorial is relased I will have at a minimum 400 pts worth of those soon enough as well.
I want TAGS to field with all my factions. (Who doesn't?)
So a Marut, Jotne(Jotum for all you non Svalarheim residents) , Lizard, Gecko and Iguana.
I'll also pick up the standard REMS for my factions.
Support packs are an auto include.
Dire Foes Fleeting Alliance pack for the additional minis actually usable.
I KNOW my Nomads. Trust me on that one.
But I don't really know my ALEPH or Pan-O doods and doodettes yet. :p unfortunately.
So I will be working on building some lists to suit my playing style.
In Warmahordes I play Cryx, so I do glass cannons and alpha striking very well.
And with my Bakunin lists I can setup a defensive perimeter like no one else.
Now from my understanding ALEPH is an elite strike force. So alpha striking will work very well there.
But my uncertainty comes with Pan-O. Tanking? They kinda make think of Khador and Skorne. Slow but able to keep standing when most others fall.
Besides the TAGS and REMS where do I go from here? Gamingwise I like to think of myself as a solid defensive player.
Able to hold down most objectives or punch a hole in the offence of my opponent.
And again glass cannon alpha striking. I utilize target priority rather than massed firepower thrown downrange.
With ALEPH I have a certain idea of what I can use to bolster my collection.
But Pan-O is a blank for me.
Your ideas will be appreciated.
So thank you all in advance for your time.

Basically, from how I see it, you have alot of ways to expand your PanO and especially your Aleph.
As for Nomads, you talk about Corregidor, yet as I see it, you have lots of more models for Bakunin lists. Are you sure you want to go Corregidor way instead of Bakunin?
As for Aleph, how do you want to play it, and at what point range? ITS or just killing?
If you want to play Rambo style, there's plenty of models to pickup in Aleph faction.
For instance, Achilles ... But it depends on how you want to play it.
IMO, I think Achilles is a great model... But fun? Nah...

There's no such thing as tanking damage in Infinity. PanO is the best at straight ranged trades, however they're on the low end of mobility (lack of infiltrators or super jump units) and specialists tasks such as hacking and engineering. Not a lot of synergy among the units. We still need to take something like Akal or Brethren for much needed mobility. Kamau, Acontecimento Regulars (minelayer), Auxilia those are also great options. Supposedly there will be few new options once N3 is released. Problem is that you want to take a TAG and those seriously limit what you want to take to compete in ITS.

This cannot be overstated. It's really not a thing in this game.
In a recent game I brought down a Jotum with a Ghulam Panzerfaust and an Asawira Spitfire by shooting it in the ass each time it turned to face a new threat. The biggest and toughest will go down to some sneaky tactics and a big gun or two. With critical hits, you don't even always need a big gun.

tanking damage wasnt a thing in n2, and its still not super viable but can happen in n3.
Now with silouttes blocking shots you can put your engineer behind the tag and heal him alot since he can heal a tag to full! (one heal per order) especially with the command token rule saving you from killing your own guy, its great.
I played this weekend and my raicho was healed for a total of 11 structure through out the game by his kurgat tag team buddy covering his ass with an mk12 and healed him whenever he got hurt.
Not that I am condoning tank builds as some new meta (to chancy with crits and bad rolls) but it will happen far more this rule set and being a morat player I approve.
I wonder how a few geckos with a clockmaker baby sitter would do...hmm....

With ARM 5 I'd guess not very well. A Panzerfaust or two and they'd be scrap.
Though this is coming from a Haqqislam player, where the general reaction to having an SWC or two left over is to give all cheerleaders panzerfausts.

Or with the new spec fire stuff, absence of shadow zones, just lob a grenade past the 'tank' and take out that engineer.

My Gecko, hold ground with Marut and EXP ammo for 2 turns stoping that monster, I think they can handle little rocker in face.
But wasnt "heal the tank" limited only to those G:remote Tags?

Just saying, if someone actually wants a TAG dead, it'll die. Haqqislam can easily accomplish it through ridiculous amounts of Panzerfausts. Outside of the core N2 'battle TAGs', which have been toned down in N3, TAGs have never been particularly hard to deal with.

Which is a shame, really...
T.A.G.s are my favorites, and are the reason I finally jumped in to INFINITY.
Only to find out they aren't quite what I thought they were!

No, ANY TAG could have structure repaired by an engineer - it's just that the G:remote ones had an extra 0 structure level that they could be repaired from. ( ...x,2,1,0,-1,DEAD ).
In N3 ALL G:remote units (NOT JUST THE TAGS) have this.

I still will humbly disagree with my 4 games of N3 under my belt all using my raicho tag. (haha! how much does that count for? hehehehe ((hope the sarcastic wit came through on that....damn internet) It is very hard to deal with. I know you all want to do the fifth grader discussion about how you would do this and its a sure thing....but nothing is a sure thing not even my tag.... I come with my strategies and tactics and you come with yours and we fight it out. Its why infinity is good since strats and tactics actually matter. You come with your panzerfaust, you try and huck grenades at my kurgat, you try and gecko swarm me.... I will try and keep your tactics from working using MY entire army, or even my tag. The fing thing is armor 8 with 3 structure, in cover the strongest weapon in the game has a less than 25% chance of doing 1 structure damage to it. (remember crits happen though) Am I missing some super str 20 burst 4, armor piercing, dual action gun with +6 to shooting that ignores cover? HOWEVER!!! last game he got neutered by a damn ninja hacker. Yu-jing player had 3 TO camo markers and the one i got like..a TENTH of an inch to close to entering his zone of control was a damn ninja hacker who proceeded to immobize my TAG and eject my pilot. took him out till turn 3 when my rasyat spitfire got the luckiest crit on a roll of 3!!! to the to camo in cover ninja killing him. Then my dude hoped back in and wrecked shop but the damage was done in the objective game since he was locked in my deployment zone during superiority and never got to bring him or his kurgat buddy into the quadrants until turn 3..... Anyways, tags are do-able and I hope to see some of you at the Las Vegas open to prove me wrong. I willl be the guy who wins best painted for my morat army. What did you think tags were? I bet they still are! depending on the tag in question....
