Hmm, I may make some sprue platforms and use them to prop my guys up on. should be simple enough!

My 2 cent vote goes to the Auto cannon, I just like the flexibility it affords in target selection.
For S&G's several mortars lobbing templates all over the board to harass your opponent is also
fun...
Also, never had a HWS of Lascannons hang around long, especially after they've had a good round of shooting
they seem to become a priority target and nuked shortly thereafter.

Yeah, tank busters tend to get blown off the board pretty fast...

So, ignoring the discussion about how anal one should be about ADL's, I will respond to the OP.

I generally say Lascannons for the HWS's and Autocannons for anything you put in a blob. If you're shooting with anything of the single-shot variety, you might as well go with AP2 (as I have discovered painfully facing two 4-Riptide lists last tourney). However, I think it's worth considering taking ML's with flakk, because they are still reasonable AT and MEQ-killers but can shoot at flyers and can get the order that will make jink useless.

Also, if you are going to go with HWS's, then I think you gotta go all out with 2-3 HWS' at least. To get your points-worth out of them, you need to support them in some ways beyond an ADL. They'll never be competitive exactly, but they stand their best chance of making back their points if you are giving them orders. Giving them all PE with Kurov's Aquilla isn't a terrible idea in this case and a psyker to try and grant prescience is a must. The Astropath is also a really cheap and effective support unit. You have a 1/3 chance of getting invisibility or shrouding with him. If not, leave him and the rest of the CCS in a chimera which will extend the orders and Kurov's Aquila bubble and Psykic Shriek is a good last-ditch defense for deepstrikers and what-not.

On the issue that has transfixed this thread, I'm really surprised there has not been a more forthright FAQ on the ADL. I mean, the whole unit was pretty clearly designed for imperial gunlines so it seems absurd to me that GW would make it practically inoperable for Imperial heavy weapons unless you model for advantage. Rules lawyers are probably right on this one by the letter of the poorly written law, but this is 100% "c'mon man, don't be TFG" territory.

I would agree with the auto cannons in the blobs and lascannons for the hws. I honestly think though that flakk missiles are too expensive. Anti air can be found else where for a better cost.

And about the aegis and no FAQ. It's usually due to the fact that everyone says there should be an FAQ but not many people really message or try to contact gw about it. If they get a few people asking then they probably won't care. But the more people that ask then the more likely they will notice it.

Can I just say. My meta are really cool about the whole ADL thing, I should be fine.
