I played an Ork list against an IG AV14 wall last week. I just happened to have made up a double MANZ list, I also had to up my list to 1500 pts (from 1250) so I added some tankbustas and deffcoptas with rockets. I was able to deal with the list pretty well. Of course if he had tried to move at all it might have been a different story. He was willing to let me motor in with my klaws and wreck stuff. By the time he tried to move and push me off objectives it was too late.

Here is a 1850 list that might do well. Only 1 squad of scouts not in AV14:

IF CT:
MotF (In an inquisition LR)

5 scouts
Bolters

5 scouts (In LRR)
Ccw + bp

Land raider redeemer
Multimelta

Typhon heavy seige tank
Ceremite

2 Vengeance weapon batteries
Both with battle cannons

Allies
Inquisitor (In LR)
Servo skull

3 acolytes
1 bolter
Landraider crusader
Psybolts, multimelta

3 acolytes
Landraider crusader
Psybolts, multimelta

3 acolytes
Landraider crusader
Psybolts, multimelta

1850pts.

Thats 3 crusaders with psybolts, 1 redeemer, all 4 with mms. 2 av14 battle cannons, and a typhon immune to melta.

Been trying to build a quad landraider list for an 1850 tourney. Very tough to squeeze in useful/hardhitting things after the raiders. Was half thinking of filling them with ccw scouts

A Knight is easy enough to add in if you're using obsec raiders from BA (ASM) or Inquistion (Henchmen)

On that note, heres what I came up with

DAs CAD
Chaplain on bike with bits and bobs and powerfield generator
7 man Tac squad with Sergent
7 man Tac squad with Sergent
LR crusader
LR crusader

Space Wolves allied
Wolf priest on bike with bits and bobs
5 wolf guard with sergent in LR crusader
7 Grey hunters with sergent
LR Crusader

Idea is to try and park the DA chaplain behind the LRs and get at least a couple of them the 4++ from the generator.
Then form a wall and charge forward

Can anyone think of a legit way to get a LR an invulnerable save without DA?

Isnt there a psychic power that grants a unit 4++?

I think the DA libby is the best route honestly

I have seen a guy playing 3 Land Raiders in 1000 point game. He only had to kill Belakor and his Chaos opponent immediately gave up.

Necrons. We didn't all forget Necrons did we?

Literally nothing I rather see coming out of my opponents case than MULTIPLE Landraiders...

You can field your land raiders as dedicated troop choices. You now have scoring Land Raiders. Also you can fill those crusaders to the brim with marines and scouts to super assault anyone you want. Just make sure you take MMs and put melta bombs on your sergeants and you should have all your bases covered.

So, for what it's worth, I can speak to my experiences with this type of army in previous editions...

From 4th through 6th Edition, I ran Grey Knights at 1000 and 1500, with half of the army value being Land Raiders in a 'mechanized infantry' style. I won more than five dozen games with them over the years, including taking first at several local tournaments. It is brutally effective, but I will also warn that it requires you to be very on your game tactically, as it's incredibly easy for a single mistake to cost you half your force in one turn. The key point is to use the AV14 along with the condensed nature of your army to allow you to continually attack a small portion of their army with your entire army. Between killing him in small sections, using the AV14 as a shield, and maneuvering to limit what can attack you at any one point, you have to dedicate every turn to making sure you limit the number of 'dangerous' shots/attacks coming at you each turn to as few as possible. Minimize the attacks against you, and minimize your chances of failing rolls, and you can take your opponent apart piecemeal in a series of small skirmishes in which he has absolutely no chance.

So basically, AV14 never wins you games. However, AV14 allows you to engage your opponent in very specific conditions, which you can control, and in which you can always have the advantage. Think of it as a tool, and you can leverage it to absolutely amazing results.
