I was looking over some of my old 2nd ed Space Wolves today and from a model point of view their back packs are quite big.
I know Marine packs contain the powerpacks for the main body of armor but do they contain anything else? They have several vents but would this be more for cooling than taking in air and purifiying it? Marines breath through their vox grill iirc.
Taking into account Terminator armor does not have an external power pack but is generally considered much more powerful than standard power armor, where does TA get its power from or is it a case of a wizard did it?

I assumed that Tactical Dreadnought Armor had an internal reactor in the hump above the shoulders of the suit.

Think of something clever to say.

This is the classic diagram from Rogue Trader:

Not sure how much that might have changed but if gives a rough idea of what's going on. Terminator armour has a built in power plant, hence the vents on the back.

Pretty sure those stabilising jets are exhausts now, among various other changes.

"Purificator"? Not Purifier?

I don't think they have released anything invalidating that picture, though I agree with Ash, I think the jet stabilizers are just referred to as exhaust ports now.

It also talks about solar panels and solar converters. Haven't they used fusion reactors for a pretty long time now?

Nothing wrong with having multiple power sources. Maybe the solar converters run something they don't want to run off the fusion plant.

I figured the solar was supplemental, but in that diagram it makes no reference to it.

Purificator sounds a bit more gothic I guess.
