Hi all,

This might seem like a really stupid question, but I was recently going through the Horus Heresy Campaign books from Forgeworld and looking at some of the weapons Titans have available to them. This includes the use of some "double barrelled" weapons. Now my immediate thought is that these behave exactly the same as twin-linked i.e you get to re-roll a miss, but I can't actually find anything that clarifies this. It would be useful if the books had an index but I also find no reference to double barrelled weapons in the 6th Edition rulebook. Is it the same as twin-linked seen as it doesn't have a weapon profile listing 2 shots? Or is it in fact 2 shots?

Thanks

Between

Double-barrelled doesn't mean anything, statistic wise.

It doesn't matter what a weapon is called, all of its stats are under Range, Strength, AP and Type.

Ok thanks, sorry I don't have the book in front of me at the moment otherwise I would have quoted the context. It just struck me as slightly weird as I'm sure it was exactly the same name as one of the other weapons, just "double barrelled" in front of it, which is why it threw me off. But thanks for the quick clarification

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Some double barelled weapons are naturally twin linked, this generally dgoes for heavier ordnance, otherwise the extra barrel is a required component for normal firepower.

There are a fair few ork double barreled weapons that are just normal shootas and sluggas. This is because of the random nature of the technology, most everything else gets the twin linked rule if you see a double barrel.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

The name of a weapon is completely irrelevant. I could call something the "double-barreled multiphasic gurfnapp device" and that would tell you nothing at all about what the weapon does, you'd need to look at the profile and see where it says "12", S 1, AP 1, Assault 1, Twin-Linked, Gurfnapp (instead of rolling to wound a model hit by this weapon must take an Attacks check or take a wound with the Instant Death special rule. Vehicles hit by this weapon take an automatic Penetrating Hit.)".

Probably cause half of them don't shoot.
