Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour.

Maybe at this point, computers will do it all for you

Oh I haven't forgotten.

I've been at work since 7:00 PM yesterday evening and I don't get off until 7:00 this morning... I will feel every agonizing second of that extra hour. Thanks for reminding me!

Haha holy crap this must suck. I was just having a discussion with a friend the other day about how every hour you work feels exponentially longer. Like working 8 hours is not just 33% longer than 6 hours, it "feels" twice as long. I used to work 12-14 hour shifts all the time and I would have been so frustrated being scheduled for a 12 hour and then daylight savings forcing the extra hour haha.

Now in that situation, does one pull an extra hour's pay? Or does it just whirl off into nowhere?

Depends. My mum works in a bank and my dad in the public sector. They get feth all squared if they have to pull nightshifts (although my mum hasn't done a Night shift in 10 years so mostly my dad).

Most likely not.

I feel that I should and I will say something to my boss on Monday morning before I go home. If I don't get it, I know they'll make it up to me in another way so it will even out.

I didn't work last night, but we get an hour of overtime if we work it. We have to burn an hour of vacation time in the spring though.

Every year I have had to work it, they have paid out the extra hour.

One year I was working a double, they had to send me home early because I would have ended up working 17 hours, which is a big nono. They were not happy when they forgot about Daylight Savings that year

At my old job where it happened several times, I'd get paid for the hour (and OT if it was), and when the calendar next shifts I'd leave an hour early (unpaid), or I could stay an extra hour if I wanted the pay.

No idea how it works at my current job, it hasn't come up yet.

Too close to Jersey.

I rode along with some 24hr shifted EMT's before. I'd hate to be a patient under their care on the 25th hour!

I would hope they have some sort of rest plan incorporated into the shift. Or are they literally on their feet going for 24 hours straight?

I always laugh at this time before everything was auto go ahead an hour or go back an hour. Mondays are fun being your either an hour early to PT Formation or an hour late to PT formation

It was a rural area south of Chattanooga. My 10 hour shift with them there were zero calls. We just watched TV at the station. Still, on a busy day, I have no clue how they coped. (Badly, I suspect.)
