Is it just me, or does it seem like GW just wants to withdraw to the UK? Odd selling policies, closing and shrinking of stores, no support for FLGS, and other little things makes me think they want to make the same money, but only have to sell to the UK.

It's absolutely, fething nuts. Honestly, a first year business student would be weeping into their hands with some of the above - even in a monopolised situation, where you have complete control over the marketplace, reducing the opportunity for your customer to purchase (and points of sale) is just really bad business practice. But it's not a monopoly, and compounded by the fact that many of their competitors (even though they are small-fry by comparison) are doing it so much better, and why many of those companies are growing while GW is shrinking.

Most of GW's business moves lately have been horrible. Especially not knowing what is coming out until the week before.

But in fairness I'll have to argue the "no support for FLGS". They do still have some good stuff in that catagory. I can still get all the free racks i need, which saves stores hundreds of dollars in costs, in my case thousands. Those racks aren't cheap. A few times a year my rep will offer free paints or models for an events. But the big one is 1800.00 a year in free model kits or supplies. Makes it very easy to do new store armies, run painting classes and supply all the paints,.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Just got an email, they are now 50% off GW, and will not be doing phone orders for the remainder after 6 pm on Friday. Guess the rest will be in their store near me .

I'm not sure if it will go into their retail store, pure speculation on that part. They might have one of the other local stores willing to buy the leftovers or something. I'll let you know. I might even leave some for other people .

Bwahaha. I'm not even sure what from the last list I'd even want. They still had a comparatively large supply of space marine captains... like 30 of them?

I could see picking up some random fantasy kit or a couple of LotR things just because?

Stopped by their retail store today on the way home. they will indeed move any remaining items into the store at the usual 50% or more off after Friday. I'm really stoked about that as I stop in frequently and am more of an impulse shopper than anything. As my purchase today from them shows

Just getting into Infinity, and they had some single models in the store for half off including a gecko box (had one wrong arm, but $30 for two geck0 and some haqqislam drones $8 and a foxtrot trooper $6 as well as a $6 PanO special weapons figure.

The guy at the counter wouldn't give me any clues as to any of the black Friday specials though

Fun fact, that's not the consistent GW treatment for FLGS.

Out of the three FLGS I know of which retail GW product, they get absolutely zero support aside from the ubiquitous paint rack. No paints, no credit to build store armies, nothing. They used to, and thus the older stores have those old hallmarks, but nothing in a few years.

That being said, when they screw up (which is quite common with orders) they usually give the store some free stuff, usually the big terrain centerpieces, so their incompetence has given a few stores some decent tables.

Whether this is a difference USA vs Canada, I honestly can't say, but that seems the only logical conclusion, as I've never seen nor heard of a store getting consistent or noteworthy benefits for retailing GW product in years.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
