Just like what they did to Nagash, Games Workshop can put the Emperor himself, awakening from the Golden Throne, as a playable model in 40K, or should I say, 41K games. He would be 1000 points, the same as Nagash.

I guarantee EVERYONE will buy this model and GW will make tons of money.

Check your history my eager young apprentice.

Nagash previously had a model (shudder!) and rules. His appearance is not ground breaking in anyway.

Ignoring the tons of money for GW comment. Where exactly would Big Easy fit in?

They could actually do it multiple ways. They could say the Golden Throne failed and now, while many Imperial forces have suddenly gained chaos-god-esque boons, a warp entity in golden armor starts appearing on the battlefield to assist the forces of man. It would serve the same way as a greater daemon would, but without the need for foul blaspemies and outright heresy.

Or they could say the Golden Throne failed and, though somewhat weakened, the Emperor's body was finally able to focus its energies on healing his wounds. With new muscle and sinew restitched to his bones, the Emperer would rise and serve as a human sized titan LoW. Possibly even at the helm of an ally force of Custodes.

Or something else. There's lots of options. I don't see it happening, but its fun to speculate.

Size matters not. Judge me by this crude matter? Hmm??

Wait, I'm getting my universes mixed up, but more powerful doesn't have to mean 'bigger.'

You can't have the Big E on the tabletop, he'd just kill everyone practically immediately.

Search & Destroy:
Inquisitor Ferenz Talan and his acolytes follow Colonel Mieza and the 16th Berdam Armoured back to their home system, in the hopes of rallying troops for a crusade against the Tau for their defeat on Falasten. However, upon arrival, they find that others have their eyes on the system.

The Emperor also has models for Horus Heresy game.

He would just become a 5th chaos god and be locked in eternal struggle with the other 4 just like they are always fighting with each other. After ascending he probably wouldn't be too bothered with the short term goings on of mankind

well you know....way back in the day they had originally planned to have the gods of order when they first made Warhammer. Maybe the Big E could be the first god of Order? If thats the case then he would probably wage war on his own imperium for disrupting Law and Order by making a crazy religion that worships him. Maybe he will regenerate like the perpetuals once he dies? This would be interesting to see.

Oh dear Athe, no! This would utterly ruin the 40K. Emperor is absolutely perfect as a rotting corpse and that's how he should stay.

I would rather see a Primarch return. One for chaos and the imperium.

Yea, it's what gives humanity the feeling of teetering on the brink looking into the abyss. A god incarnate but in frail, rotting form (try imagining the theological implications of Jesus/Abraham/Mohammad living today, but in critical care on life support, unable to speak). The Emperor resurrecting is too campy/comic book in style. "Phew, that was a close 10,000 years but we've got it all wrapped up now that Big E is on the scene." Him dying carries dramatic implications for the Imperium of Man, which either crumbles (as is likely) or survives without him, which kind of ruins his whole appeal all along.

They don't seem too intent on moving the story forward, with the same fluff in 7th and no new big campaigns except some generic Ork-centric stuff. If they chose to move forward, I'd like something other than "Chaos tries a 14th Crusade!" or "Something in the Eye of Terror stirs!" I'd like to see more of the unseen terrors of the universe, a new threat from the Necrons, Tyranids, or a separatist human faction.

if they where gonna do a nagash type model for 40k, I'd reckon on Deamon Primarchs

As much of an Ultramarine fan boy as I am, I think if any Primarch were to be brought back for a 40k End Times, it should be either the Lion or Russ, we know both are on their way back, both could unite the Legions of old in the name of humanity, and would take to the battlefield. Guilliman would be too busy being a General and King.

I really do not want to see (loyal) Primarchs to return either, it would still ruin the crumbling dystopian feel that is integral to the 40K. There already is FW's Horus Heresy, so everyone who wants a game with Primarchs present can already play that.

Of course having the Daemon-Primarchs make an appearance in the 40K would be absolutely fine. They're already part of the background, and their more prominent presence would emphasise the threat of Chaos as the main enemy of the Imperium.

I would rather have Roboute Guiliman return. Would be more appropriate and it would mess far less with the current settling on how they use the Emperor as a warp traveling beacon. Besides, Magnus could crush a god damn Titan by clenching his fist and the Emperor is much stronger than him, imagine how he would trash your opponent armies, I mean this guy supposedly wrestled with a C'Tan god (or shard, what ever Matt Ward retconned it to be) and locked it inside the core of Mars. Which means he would be the transcendent C'Tan to shame.

The Emperor is an eternal like Vulkan or John Grammaticus, if the golden throne fails he would die and then come back to life. I think it's one of the biggest tragedies in 40k that they didn't know this and slapped him in the throne keeping him in semi life, when if they'd just let him die all would be rosy for mankind.

That is why the Eternals plot line is awful.

I read that the golden throne, in addition to other things it does, keeps the gate to the failed human web way sealed. Wouldn't it failing mean Terra is overrun with demons? Or maybe that's old canon they aren't using anymore.

IIRC, that's still the case and the true meaning behind the saying: "The Emperor protects".

The loss of Terra and the split of the Imperium between the man claiming to be the Emperor and a revived Guilliman/Lion would be pretty neat.

I think the Lion and Russ would make the least impact to the Imperium as a whole. Neither would be interested in taking over as rulers and would likely be so consumed with vengeance they would likely focus on their legions.

I wouldn't want to see Big E on the table but I would like to see him ascend and either be reborn or join the chaos gods in eternal struggle like it's been previously suggested.

I think it would be pretty cool if there was a Sanguinius and Horus revive.

Also remember that the Nagash story line is a setting that occurs in history, not a new line going forward. So you wouldn't be playing 41K you would be playing the Horus Heresy. I think 30k almost does that already.
