Hell yes. It' sl ike TF2.
Well, aside from being unfocused and scatterbrained anyway, unlike TF2's designs, which are carefully tailored.

No, an Egyptian power armour. Pharah's design works well as a pure SF concept, even if her power armour clearly has some stylised aesthetic features.

Damn, I really like how it looks so far, I'm excited for this new Blizz franchise.

Have you been to Egypt recently? Because definitely, Pharah's armor is referencing Ancient Egypt far more than modern Egypt.
They wanted to include an Arab but could not find a non-offensive Arab stereotype/archetype, so they settled for the closest they could find, and that was ancient Egypt .

Okay mate lets talk about D3 for a quick second here.
The reason why that game did not do well. Is because of the amount of hype beyond the game. See I had no hype to the game, I knew it was going to live up to the expectations of anyone. Does it now. Yes. It is thirty times better than the old diablo 3.
I mean look at this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Calnor-1766/hero/44222257
I have spent over four hundred hours, playing diablo 3. That is more than minecraft, and terraria hours I have played. COMBINED.
I got more than my moneys worth when I bought diablo 3.
I have no doubt that blizzard will be able to polish Overwatch to such a degree that will make it's own unique flavor.
I think it is a compliment if you say it looks like team fortress 2 as that is a great game. But it is pretty darn old. Valve has held that game in a chokehold for years.

Meh, Diablo 3 tanked at first because of some fatal design flaws. Poor loot, auction house, difficulty spikes etc. Still a great game. Amazing on consoles.

Not enough maps, and the maps are only two variations on a single theme: Team A stands here, then here; Team B stops them standing there.

Hows it supposed to day it took inspiration from TF2 if it doesn't have hats? (and, yes, it definitely takes cues from TF2, the dwarf pretty much being the engineer minus the Texan accent for example.)
Not that taking cues from TF2 is a bad thing, quite the opposite. I love TF2, and anything that can force competition with it and make Valve step up their game is good in my book.
Only thing I'm worried about are that several of the characters have abilities that appear to just be "press button, kill everything in the room" super moves. That would just majorly kill my fun.

Ultimate abilities in any game like DOTA are there to present another a challenge I.E. Disallowing the players who are winning to keep winning it is basically to allow for players who have not played the game as much to at least stand a chance. Using proper timing and proper team work you can avoid these Ultimates.
It will be upon you to ADAPT to the situation not blizzard. It will be your fault if you get hit by the ultimate as there is a casting and a cooldown for all ultimate abilities. They are represented visually.
We don't know how many maps or what gametypes they will have we have only seen a few so I have reserved my commentary until I have sat down and played the game. But I know someone who has. And they loved it. (They love TF2, but they said Overwatch was much better, and more refined.)

I did it a bunch of time already. If you lend it to people in the same country, easy. Back when Heroes of the Storm was in beta (or alpha?) I lend my account to Sigvatr, it was a bit more complex iirc but it worked out fine.

I'll be honest, I'd laugh my ass off and would totally try it out if they made an arab character who was an explosive expert and whose main ability is to run up to people and explode while screaming "jet fuel can't melt steel beams". It wouldn't be far off from using a jihad bomb in Trouble in Terrorist Town.

So. I just played a ton of this during the Beta Weekend stress test and wow. This is certainly a blizzard game to a T. Does nothing really new but does it in a refined and enjoyable way. I'm not normally an FPS guy it's probably my least favorite kind of game but it had me hooked. First impressions were not great, but that may have been just the matchmaker needing to learn what a terrible scrub I am and putting me up against similar fifthly casuals. Stapling MOBA style character kits onto a TF2-style game is a winning formula. I can't say I've enjoyed a shooter as much ever and the last one to come close might have been Unreal 2004. It really hits its stride once you find a stable of characters you can gel with.
While I groaned at least a little bit getting yanked away from my favorite, when conditions conspired to make playing Mercy a bad call I still enjoyed the hell out of D. VA, Lucio, Bastion and Mei. I could even get behind Soldier 76 in a real pinch.

How can you say this game is unoriginal but then talk about mixing MOBA style elements with FPS, isn't that treading fairly new ground?

Certainly the mixture of cooldowns & ultimate abilities being used specifically in an FPS is a new mix. However all of the core game play mechanics and game modes have been created and refined elsewhere. There isn't really any one thing you can point to in the game and go "First time I've seen that". I mean it's hardly the first game to put class based abilities in an FPS. You could have pointed at those and pitched over watch as: "Hey. What if we gave everyone like 2 or 3 of them and one a long cooldown and you can't switch any of it around? It works for MOBAs".
You could fairly chalk it up as a bit of innovation I guess, but not invention. It also doesn't feel very new, the elements come together to form something that doesn't give any moment-to-moment game play experiences I don't feel like I've had somewhere before. Though maybe that is just a credit to the polish, making a new mix feel intuitive.
All that said "Does nothing really new" is not really intended as criticism. I don't really demand or even find value in revolutionary mechanics for their own sake. You're talking to a guy who has enjoyed the hell out of almost every game in the Megaman series a 20 year string of glorified expansion packs. I'd rather have an well polished and paced experience in well-trodden design grounds than a messy and partially realized one with big ideas.
Overwatch is a solid game in my opinion. I'd like to be playing it right now! The fact it feels like "Really good class-based FPS" instead of "Really good something we'll need some new terminology to define" doesn't diminish that statement in the least. I only really brought up the whole "new things" angle because I know this forum has Blizzard fans and Blizzard haters and it's a way to say "Hey, Blizzard fans more of what they do well here" and "Hey, Blizzard haters nothing here that's gonna change your mind".

So, to sum things up :
Dota 2 and League of Legends have a lot of success, Blizzard releases Heroes of the Storm (already forgotten).
TF2 has a lot of success, Blizzard releases OverWatch.
I wonder if OverWatch has hats.
